Countertops installed today...but pitted?
Comments (7)Hey Dude, you look way too happy to be in the middle of a reno! :>) Maybe it's because your kitchen is looking great! Can't answer your Q about the marble, but it's beautiful. What kind is it? What color are your cabs? I'm interested to see more of your kitchen because my current layout has a sink in a pony wall like yours. Is that your family room on the other side? I don't have seating there becaue my entry from the hallway is just to the left. Doesn't look like you have seating there either, true? I'd love to see more of the pony wall from the family room side. Could you please post another picture further back so I could see how you framed out the opening to the left with the little bit of wall that comes down from ceiling to the pony wall and what the back of the lower cabs look like? Thanks!...See MoreKitchen Countertops installed today!! EEEKKKK!!
Comments (48)Thanks collage! I got to pick out all 5 slabs used in our kitchen area. We got them from Italia Granite in SLC, Utah. I couldn't find any other slabs online with the same name or any other quartzite that looked like it at all. They told me they had just got it in and were the only ones in the state that had it. I believe them as I have not seen it before at all. There is a thread all about different countertop materials and how to test them to see what stone they are. I did all the tests on mine and it passed for a true quartzite. Good luck! Robyn...See MoreDoes this backsplash tile work?
Comments (30)Localeater that's very similar to what I am going for. I did consider the fantasy Brown but was thinking a short piece but I really like what you did behind the sink! I definitely could do that. And add the low splash tile in the other areas. There's not much space behind the stove and microwave so just using the stainless steel there. I had glass in a previous home and liked it, very easy to keep clean. Pattisue thanks for the information. Yes I hope to do a reveal. It's taking so long since we had to do the whole house after the flood. It seems like it will never be finished. Such beautiful kitchens for inspiration....See Morequartzite countertop fabrication questions before install
Comments (2)It all began when our 26 yr old refrigerator quit working. Our new one is larger and we had to remove cabinets to make it fit. Im seizing on the opportunity to change the cabinet color and countertops. My husband likes the raised bar. We replaced the cooktop, switched from black gas to silver induction. We have 3 young children and don’t want to redesign the entire kitchen due to cost and logistics. We are trying to plan as far in advance as possible so we can order products and hopefully not get caught up in supply issues. We painted all the common areas in the home Panda White. It works with our tile floors. Our entire downstairs has the same tile floor. The cabinets will match the wall color as we know it works with our floors. Now we need to select the countertop, sink and backsplash, hardware, faucet....See More- 10 years ago
