I'll probably see Iva Mae tomorrow ... otherwise, I can send you her email address (which is to continue) or phone number (probably about to change [in a couple of months? ... not before the 27th, I think]).

I expect to be available that day, possibly not for a couple of hours at noon.

A few suggestions re restaurant is Hilltop, at Kilworth, just west of London, from Oxford Street. That's where my possible conflicting time is to be spent - would need to send directions to most who lack GPS, I expect.

Or Red Lobster or Mandarin, both on Wellington Road south, main artery into London from 401.

There's a small one (Knotty Pine?) part of the Days Inn motel, also on Wellington Road south.

They've been holding a Senior Men's Coffee Hour at the United Church in Lambeth, where I attended as a child (sang in the choir before my voice changed) for several years, on Thursday mornings ... then someone brought back a suggestion from somewhere else, so changed name to ROMEOs - "Retired Old Men Eating Out" ... when I said that it should be "ROMDO" - "Retired Old Men Drinking Out" ... they weren't willing to touch that one with a ten foot pole! Actually, I often refer to it as "The Old Farts' Club".

They close down over summer, and near the end of June take their wives out to dinner on a Thursday at noon, and that's to be on the 20th or the 27th at the "Hillside".

I'll have to check which: my memory ain't what it used to be ... and have I invited an "alternate wife" (or is that actually "temporary"? ... not "overnight", in any case).

Joyful, I'm thinking Red Lobster, mostly because I haven't been there since FOREVER! I know where it is, and I'm pretty sure Jasdip knows too, Let's plan on that. It should be fairly easy for Nita to find, too. Thanks! I look forward to seeing you again.

Three of the restaurants that I spoke of are all on Wellington, as one approaches downtown from 401 freeway.

What time of day do you folks have in mind?

Iva Mae is moving about 60 miles away tomorrow and doubts whether she'll be able to come to the gathering, sorry to say.

Are you planning to be in the Toronto area, Nita? There are some people in that area who are connected to KT ... would it be better to plan a location nearer there, to make it easier for them to come our way, if not?

Ed, I think it would be simpler for Toronto KTers to come to London. Red Lobster is just off the 401 on Wellington Rd. and easy to find. And the Toronto KTers would be most welcome. The more the merrier.

Jasdip and I were thinking lunch at 1 p.m. would be a good time. Hopefully that would be suitable for everyone.

My gathering with the old guys and wives is to be on the 27th - at that Hilltop restaurant on the west edge of London, to which I referred.

I told the coordinator this morning that I might not be going ... and he wondered what could have come up to displace a plan that's running for all year. I told him that it was a meeting with some folks/friends that I'd met on the internet ... and one popular lady was from Arizona, so it was a one-time only opportunity.

I'm thinking of suggesting that the lady that I usually go with go anyway,suggesting to anyone who asks that Ed isn't all there, today (if you'll pardon the expression).

Actually ... the coordinator was running around at the close of the meeting looking for his list, and I don't think that he found it ...

... so maybe even he isn't sure how many will be "all there" at the crucial time ...

... with or without wives!

Since there's to be a gathering with the Windsor folks, and Iva Mae isn't expecting to be available, and I'm free to travel, would it be better to plan a meeting in Woodstock ... Brantford ... Hamilton, which would make it easier for folks in and around Toronto to attend?

Perhaps it could be earlier, after Niagara Falls and before Nita and Mike come to the campground near London?

Sorry I can't be there. I'm so tuckered out from all the
packing and unpacking but with a tremendous amount of help from my daughter and son- in-law, things are coming along nicely. Ed did tell me about it when I saw him at church on the 9th. I moved on the 11th.

I don't do the driving that I used to. short distances are all right but 60 miles is a bit too much for this old gal - but I'm younger than Ed, Right, Ole Joyful?

The original suggestion was for a meeting in London, but as Iva Mae's not to be there, and I don't mind travelling, I'd wondered whether a meeting in, say, Brantford might have made it easier for some Toronto area folks to attend.

No response with regard to that.

So I'm assuming that we're to get together in London.

The suggestion for location as the Red Lobster on Wellington Road, not far from 401 Highway, as being easy for everyone (and Lucky feels lucky when she goes there, I think).

What do you folks have in mind for a time?

Early afternoon, or dinner time, or evening, would suit me better than a lunch at noon, but that's not a major issue.

Let's hear how you all feel about location and time.
