I yelled at this guy, tried to get him to turn around a 'face' me, but he ignored me.

Baby scrub jay....hopping around on the ground, waiting for mom to feed him...

A coatimundi, in Argentina, prowling around the snack bar area looking for a handout. At a neighboring table someone got up to get a napkin, and in a second one of these leaped onto his table, grabbed his entire sub sandwich in its mouth, and ran off to the bushes, being chased by much of the rest of the troop.

Love the coatimundis!!!

Here are possibly a few of their cousins.

The first picture is a couple of babies that showed up in my yard. They eventually had to be relocated because mom never showed up to claim them.

The next picture is a couple of bigger ones that were part of a group that a man was feeding. This was at the overlook in Eden Park. It overlooks the Ohio River.

Great pics, everyone! but O M G... I am totally freaked out by the over-run of the creatures in Bob's photo. lol! Like having lots of cats and only one of whatever 'good thing' they all want. :O)

All great pictures today. Being an animal lover, I always love pictures of that kind.

Their coloration reminded me a lot of raccoons, they just look like they got caught in a taffy-puller, and got all stretched out.

They are cute, intelligent and inquisitive animals.

Its just that they've learned that if they hang out in the snack bar area when tourists are there, they can get high quality food with little effort.

There are many signs warning people to not leave food unattended, and to not feed them, but clearly the Coati's can't read.

In this last picture, the gray thing at the top right are the shorts I was wearing, and below that you can see the toe of my shoe. It was more than a little unnerving to have one so close, especially since I'd just seen one open its mouth wide enough to fit a sub sandwich.

Yep, that's definitely a face, ear and all, in your photo Karen. Thanks for the close up. Great animal photos, love the baby coons and the Coatimundis. Liked the story about the Coati stealing the sub.

I have probably posted this before, but I love the face (from the car, wouldn't care to meet up with him while on foot!).

Love, love all the photos, especially the animals....But, the bug in Jim's photo looks like the "stink bugs" we have in Pa. and I constantly do battle with.......

Not so crazy about all the loose animals. Anything with teeth can bite! We struggle with a population of pesky, brazen raccoons, so I don't think they are so cute.

Karen's photo should be named: "The Old Man and the Sea."

For a while we were feeding our cat on the upper level deck behind our house until this guy flipped the bowl over and was banging it around in the middle of the night because we had left it empty.

The deck wraps around the house so he had to go quite a ways to get to the bowl. We've also had beagles, several cats, and a opossum investigating the back deck.

The folks who owned this cabin displayed a light in each front window during the Iraq War until their soldiers came home.

Unfortunately, the US flag is displayed backward. The blue field should be on the flag's right which is the viewer's left, but let's not let that get in the way of message.
