I'm guessing that the OP is insulted bcs the sister either bid that little, or thought it ought to be worth that little.

And I wonder why it's insulting that your sister doesn't understand the real-estate market where you are.

It would be really annoying (and maybe insulting) if one's sister thought you should sell to her at a loss, just so she can have a better life at your personal expense. But she also shouldn't have to feel that she must pay you more than someone else would just because you're family.

OK, so the acreage is in there. But your post still doesn't make sense to me, and apparently to many other people on this forum ....

we're chomping at the bit to give you our opinions/advice; do you feel like describing your situation again? If not, that's certainly your right. But I must admit I'm curious.

The location and square footage of the home does matter. In some areas of the country believe it or not, $300,000 would be a fair offer. In others a million would be a fair offer. No one can give you an honest opinion unless we know the square footage of the home and the general location.

My 20 acre 3 br, 2.5 bath 1960's, 2400 sq ft. totally remodeled home with 5 stall barn, 5 acres of horse pastures, 3/4 acre pond, other out buildings is worth about $250K in WNY. If you are in CT, 4 times that?

My own sister came in at 3 a.m., after spending the evening riding the park trails with Mel Gibson and George Clooney, and woke me out of a sound sleep to tell me about the movie that they want to film in my 8 year old 4 bedroom house but they promise to only use 1 1/2 baths and, by the way, I don't get to play myself in the movie, and that's why I'm so crabby.

From the title, I'm guessing the sister said a remarkably low property value (or so the OP thinks).

Missing information: location, sq ft and condition of house, is 7 1/2 acres anything more than a large lot in the area, condition of barns and outbuildings, etc.

Well, sillymesillyne, haven't seen you around for awhile. You disappeared & I haven't been hanging around there much since I broke my jaw.

It's not my feelings that are hurting & I'm not posting much of anything anymore until I'm off these meds. They seem to make me aggressive & nasty which I'm not.

Yeah, I broke my jaw. But it's not a new break. I broke it late last fall. I'm not 20 years old anymore & the doctors decided I needed a bone graft to ensure enough new bone growth. Then, I had to have dental implants. They did everything in one day & I've been licking my wounds trying to heal every since. It had just gotten to where nothing hurt & they said it was time to start the reconstruction issue of my teeth. I started that process 3 weeks ago & it was going great. Now, this week, I've had two appointments. Stupid me, I figured it wouldn't hurt. I have no idea why I thought that? Just because it didn't hurt before doesn't mean it's not going to hurt at the next appointment, right? Anyway, it DOES hurt. No more appointments now until Nov. 6. This is the last part of the process though & I'm hoping to be able to eat Christmas dinner...been on mushy food for almost a year.

The kind folks over on another GS forum have supported me through the whole process. I'm reading the threads here but decided last night I'd best not post until I don't need these meds any more.
