Gill from the uk , wow talk about a strange weather pattern, you guys are really experiencing fluctuating temps which seems to be springing the spring buttons for you all there, hopefully all your cacti & succulents burst out with new growth for you. I was admiring all my cacti & succulents that I will be propagating here in the next few days, lots & lots of them popping out all over the place giving them the Hens & chicks look. And plus today I found a great deal on Terra cotta pots, someone is trying to just move them, he has about 4 pallets of them at 20 for $5.00 yeah I'm serious there little but a good deal. Size is about the size of a 4" coffee cup. I hope its ok to share that, I'm not selling them nor am I passing out numbers except the good deal I found. Greg

Mersi, which nursery, 'did you buy' mites from? :) + :( But seriously, was it Logees? Is Logees owned by different people, (in the last 10 yrs?) Logees was my favorite place to shop, locate those hard-to-find rarities. Plants were insect-free and decent sized. They still send catalogs. Mike, so are you saying Logees doesn't sell grafted citrus? If that's the case, another point against them. Mike, all my citrus are grafted. The only non-grafted tree was one started from lemon seeds..It was very pretty, but thorny as a Cactus. Ironically, its leaves were lemon scented, something I don't detect in nursery-bought grafted lemon trees..strange. Mike, don't be surprised if they won't sell the 4" Gardenia. Many nurseries keep a plant for display purposes. A local nursery had the biggest, most Beautiful Variegated PonyTail Palm ever. Not common variegated with stripes. This tree has long leaves with yellow circles. It was absolutely beautiful. On the bottom were 4 offshoots. I asked the owner how much it cost..he joked saying, you'd need to take out a second mortgage..lol. He had many offers from other nursery owners all over the US, but he refused to sell. He got hold of this tree in the 40's..they tried rooting offshoots, but they either died or grew in green. I wanted to try one SOOO bad. Anyway, we stopped at this nursery in Feb. The owner is in his 70's or 80's and has since lost interest. The PT was thrown in with other tall plants, all crunched together. Its ends were brown, soil so dry it cracked..I don't see any easy way to repot since it's been in the same 32" container for years. It looked terrible. I asked a clerk why the owner didn't have it on display, she said he lost interest. It's ashame seeing such a beauty smashed with other trees. Sometimes, when plants have disease or pests, they place a Not For Sale sign. But in your case, I think they're keeping the Gardenia as a model, an example of what another 'denia will look like. It sure doesn't hurt to call. I hope they agree to sell. If for some reason they owner declines, try not to be disappointed. Keep us posted..Toni

Carburetor repair is going to be just about a lost art, practiced by a select few. Even though I've rebuilt dozens of this carb, attempting to remember every detail about one without having it in front of me is really going to be tough. First is the "auxillary" your referring to the thrid barrel? Is the throttle plate opening on it when you are looking into it for fuel flow? Are you sure your secondary port throttle plate is opening and it flowing fuel? Just because the primary has varying amounts of fuel flowing sitting in the stall at different engine speeds, does not mean it's flowing enough fuel. Did you remove the jets when you did the "rebuild"? How did you clean the main metering passages while the carb was dissasembeled? Did you use compressed air to attempt to blow the passages clear? If so I have some bad news, some of these carbs had encapsuled check balls in the main metering passages, and if hit with unregulated shop air pressure, you could actually seat some of them and permanently block the passages. While I'm pretty sure I'm thinking of the one Nissan carb at the moment, they had a screw that was hollow, and created one of the fuel feed passages. The reason I mention that is some of the carb screws still create fuel flow passages, and the screws are different lengths to accomplish this. Did you match up all of the screws during dissasembly, and then ensure they went in to the correct holes? Too long of a screw in the wrong hole could block off an important passage. Other carb tricks... Were the venturi's removable during dissasembly and cleaning? If so were they removed and the o-rings replaced? The the venturi's staked back in, oh and made sure they were turned the right direction so that the fuel passages lined up? Does your Honda have an O2 sensor? If so then fuel metering is controlled by pulsing large and small vacuum leaks, and the carb is basically set to be over rich, and the balancing act of controlling the vacuum leaks creates the correct fuel mixture. Did you check this system to see if the vacuum controls are stuck in the lean position? Good luck, somethings really should not be a DIY project no matter how confident you are. This old Honda fuel control system is one of them, and your going to be hard pressed to find a tech today thats comfortable even working on this, especially going in after the fact..

We bought a Grohe faucet and at lowcostplumbing.com but it was still a nice piece of change and the $19.95 soap dispenser at Lowes. They look great together. I asked the question about the placement too. I had always had my on the counter dispenser on the left, and I had to really think why I did. I figured it out. With my right hand I turn on the water, and with my left I always would press down the soap into my hand. With my new dispenser, I didn't think about one thing, the spout is a little longer and at first, using the my old "moves" from the on the counter one, I squirted the soap all over and missed my hand. I wish it was a little shorter, but I've figured it out. I'm learning new "moves". Oh, I also have it so it hangs over the sink so it squirts into the sink if I make a mistake. I did fill the bottle that came with it, but I'm going to order a Never MT ASAP. At that time, I think I'll fill it with dish soap so it can do double duty. Good luck! Be careful, my hole was drilled too close to the sink and they had to come back to trim some sink off under the counter so it could fit!
