Need 3/4' undercabinet lighting depth! Would strip lighting work?
Comments (9)Just to let everyone know, the link for this post has changed: I think you only need to use one plug at the outlet end. You can connect up several light fixtures one-to-the-other in a straight line using the direct connector that comes with each light fixture. If you have to angle to a corner cab, or insert lights into a cavity, you can still connect the lights to each other using their flexible connector. Call Pegasus Lighting Associates and they will help you if you give them your measurements. 1-800-392-4818. Comments (3)Consider low voltage LED lighting. We just installed some from http://www.thelightingdivision.com/ using their Grace series. They are .45" high and work great. They are low voltage so you can run - believe it or not - 22 gauge wire! I ran 18 gauge to a junction box in the basement with the transformer alongside. And no, I don't work for them - just spent quite awhile looking for the right lighting and am very happy with this product. Comments (9)Colorfast...The light in our glass door cabinet was installed by the cabinet maker. I am not sure what kind it is but is small and round and gives off much light. Very nice to show off the "pretties" inside of the cabinet. I would send pics but not sure how to do that. I want to send before and after...I need to read on how to do that in the info that is posted. We also saw LED tape today...it was awesome...13.00 a foot...very nice and inexpensive. We already invested in all of our lighting but would have gotten some of that if I would have known it was out there. Simple to install..one just sticks it up and turns it on. The gal said it was a no brainer to install. Comes in standard luminosity high and super high....See MoreHELP!! Can under-cabinet lights and plugmolds co-exist?
Comments (3)Sure they can! UC lighting should be placed towards the front of the cabinets and hidden by the light rail. Plugmold goes at the rear. They are on separate circuits, not the same circuit. If you have conventional framed cabinets, the wire for the UC lights can be dropped down between the air space between the cabinets while the wires for the plugmold emerge directly from the wall. If that's not possible for your electrician to route it that way, then the wires can emerge from the wall at the rear and be covered with a cord cover (paintable to match your cabinets) until they reach the light's box or the transformer for the lights. I'm really not sure why he's having a problem with this. It's not the most comforting thought that he doesn't know how to do this....See Morefrugalnotstingy
