HD has a new girlfriend, what should I do?

Yeah, we'll be married 38 years the first of August...and now I find out he's sporting another female (a much younger one I might add) around town! I've tried so hard to be a good wife...and I hate to say it like this, but he has gone to the dogs! He's been real secretative lately, trolling the web, looking at weird sites, combing the local malls...and all kind of weird stuff! It is embrassing to say the least! and I found out today, his suspicious behavior has a name....it's Penny...and is she ever a catch.....or so he's been told!

by the clerk at the pet store...that is! he's been seen checking out a beautiful carmel brown mini dahusand at the mall! And, I must agree she is a beauty and can stay at my house as long as she likes....she is goreous!

what kind of dog do you have and plese tell us more about it! sorry no digi so no pics! expcept on my phone and I don't know how to post those either!

That was too scary so early in the morning!! Glad you had such a good outcome.

I'm always suspicious of pet stores, though. I hope she isn't a puppy-mill puppy. If she is, I hope she's healthy.

Mcmann i don't like to recommend things to folks for sake of argument on the forum, most folks have there own way and with fig plants they are very forgiving. I do mention things i do and or use and post pictures for those to enjoy of my plants. What i will say if it were my plant and will come out of pot in 2 springs and go into the ground i would slide plant out of pot with its current soil mix some soil you will be growing that plant in from your yard and keep it watered and fertilized for the 2 seasons then transplant it into your yard. In past i have grown a some fig plants in plain ole dirt in a container for several seasons when i first started out years ago and when i pulled it to root prune i decided to use potting soil, its much ligthter in weight and easier on my back to move container around for me, also the soil here from my yard did get compacted and made it very difficult to root prune the plants in containers. The plant will be fine for several years with whatever type of soil you use there pretty tough plants. If you look around the net at fig trees from all over you can see they will grow in pratically anything even out of stone walls ! Martin

I agree with all of you: they're definitely Hollywood Regency. And I should recharacterize my own style, which is probably better said to be "*in* transition" rather than transitional. (: I do like clean-lined pieces, and our DR set is very Mission; the adjacent LR combines Mission and Art Deco; and our bedroom, where these chairs would go, is your basic Recovering Graduate Student/Random Wedding Present room. So funky/eclectic would fit in just fine there. And there's just something about these chairs... The room is a long rectangle. The half without windows is for the bed (not a bed per se, but rather mattresses on a metal frame) and the dressers, which are mismatched yard sale finds. On the other side of the room, I'd like to create a sitting/reading area next to the windows, with a gorgeous view of the mountains (by far the nicest thing about the room!). We got a red and tan handloomed Peruvian folk-art rug for our wedding, and that's what we'll use to set off the seating area. Also on that side of the room, framing one window, are some slender dark walnut modern-styled bookcases. And then the part I'd like to replace: a heinously ugly loveseat that a friend gave us, also on that side of the room. I'd much rather find some reading chairs and an ottoman than a loveseat anyway; the room's not that big, and the loveseat makes it a pain to open and close the curtains and shades. I agree these chairs don't look too comfortable, so they're probably not my ideal reading chairs. But they'd be good for draping the bathrobe or pulling into the LR for extra seating. I love the idea of velvet, and maybe even the box-pleated skirt -- hadn't thought of that, cool idea, thank you! I agree that they're great in a pattern, but I don't want lots of patterns clashing in my bedroom, I don't think. What would you think of a tan velvet on the back and the bottom of the seat, and then the top, round seat cushion in something like this: Here is a link that might be useful: I'd use this pillow cover to reupholster the seat...

New Sans has very water-retentive soil. Should I do anything yet?

I can't tell about the roots -- the Sans plants are so dense I really can't see much soil surface, but I don't see roots in the parts I can see (I didn't dig down though). It seems to have regular Miracle-Gro style potting soil mixed with small bits of pine bark. The plant doesn't seem to be suffering otherwise, but I don't have the experience with this plant to notice more subtle signs. It remains green, upright, and with no consistent dead spots. The top layer of soil is dry, but not dried out. The bottom layer (when I feel it through the drain holes) feels like it could have been watered a day ago. I could get a photo tomorrow. I'd prefer to wait until spring to repot because I haven't been able to gather the ingredients for gritty mix yet, but I wouldn't want to lose the plant before I get a chance. Thanks for your help!

White marks on new shower floor grout! What should I do?

Efflorescence will grow out of the grout and will leave a chalky residue on your fingers if you wipe it. If the installer did not use distilled water when mixing the grout, what you're seeing are the minerals in the water that have gone to the surface of the grout when it was curing. Very common especially if you have hard water. Use a flat head screw driver or a knife to etch the surface of the grout, scraping away at the top layer. You will see the true color of the grout below this top layer. Also please note, if the installer used too much water when cleaning the tile after grouting, this too call pull the color pigment from the grout causing it to look very dull.

My DH has two girlfriends. Taffy (dog) and Lulu (cat). I'm not jealous, because I have three boyfriends -- Rudy (dog), Jazzpurr and Buddy (cats).

Mini dachshunds are really cute. Does hubby plan to buy her?

My DH has 3 collies which we kinda sorta share.....and they all have him wrapped around their widdle paws...my human kids are jealous...cause they can't seem to get him wrapped around their widdle fingers...

I have an all black Dachshund called Elvira. DH says she is MY dog but when he gets home from work at night, it is a different story. She runs to him and he gets down on the floor and plays with her and picks her up so she can lick his nose and hugs her. MY dog - HA!

Hmmm...well at lest your DH has a GIRLFRIEND...mine has 2 BOYFRIENDS! He has Mic (Min Pin) and Rover (Mutt) plus the other 5 but they are his 2 favorites. 3 of the other 5 are girls though.Us women are out numbered in this house...5 females to 8 males that's counting the cats and 2 bettas. LOL!
Would love to see a pic of your DH's new girlfriend....maybe someone can tell us how to get a phone pic on here,I'm clueless about it.
Enjoy your Hubby's new GF and try not to get TOO jealous! LOL!
This is how he watches football games...two of the girls are in this pic too and notice Ricky on the back of the couch...LOL!

I guess I can say, I have a boy friend...The way your fur baby is laying to watch TV is the way my Clancy, (cat) sleeps all night..I have to hold him and his sister, Kaley, usually is trying to lay on my chest....Oh, for a good nights sleep!

OOPS! There are all 3 of the girls in that pic!I missed seeing Miss Emmies head between TassieJo(The B/W dog) and Rovers(the mutt) butt! Rover is the one we rescued/adopted last almost 2 yrs ago....I think he likes it here! LOL! Sorry for sorta taking over this thread...I'll behave now! LOL!
Yeah Larry likes the Steelers...he's originally from New Castle ,PA...close to Pittsburgh!
