What I noticed at local quilt show

I visited a quilt show in Kalamazoo MI this weekend. It was my first show. I enjoyed looking at all of the quilts and seeing what the vendors had to offer. I was really disappointed to see how many people don't do their own quilting! Most every quilt at the show had been done on a longarm. Some people had done it themsevles, but many had not. There were some machine quilted and a select few were hand-quilted. I love the look of lots of quilting close together, but it's a bit tricky to do on a home machine. Even though I still consider myself a newbie quilter, I feel like I have to do all of the work, or I can't say I made the quilt. I was discouraged that so many quilters don't think that way. (Actually, I would be okay with making a quilt with a friend or group of friends, but I would have to actually know the person/people well. Then I could say "Look at this quilt my friend and I made!)
