RH 'Silver Sage' vs. Pratt & Lambert 'Solitary'?
Comments (6)Hi Lynn, Thanks for your input with my own link I have going with "cream cabinets and what green wall color"! I have become obsessed with this whole green wall color thing! From the feel of your post your looking for a gray/green look. The SW Ancient Marble color has a gray hue to it. It's the light on the strip. It's on the same strip as Svelte Sage just a couple hues lighter. I have also had a hard time with them looking army green. I have been considering 1/2 strength of SW Herbal Wash and 1/2 strength Garden Sage. In fact, you may like the 1/2 strength Herbal Wash. Let me know if you have any other ideas for warm greens next to cream cabinets! Thank you!...See MoreRestoration's Hardware Silver Sage
Comments (2)trk is correct about the color "match" from BenM. Also, Silver Sage has been very popular for a very long time. The Behr paint counter folks could already have it figured out and maybe all you have to do is ask them for their "match" to silver sage....See MoreRH Silver Sage in a low-light room
Comments (16)... and it all depends on what brand and base. Silver Sage is just like Tobacco Road -- not all formulas are created equal. Paint stores like to go with the theory that the human eye can not distinguish the diff between formulas. That you can arrive at the 'same color' via many different combinations of colorant. Turns out that theory often gets shot all to hell when you paint out an entire room. The best match to the original Silver Sage color chip is from Ben Moore and mixed interior Regal Matte. I hesitate to use a word like 'always' but it sure seems that SW's version of Silver Sage always comes out with a strong green edge -- and that's not what the original SS looked like at all....See MoreSilver Sage paint color?
Comments (11)Thank you all! I am contemplating using this for a 3rd color in my LR. My one wall is opposite the 6 front windows which get the east light. Carpet is a blue with grey undertones & my sofa & chair are from Norwalk which I love. Sofa's butter yellow w/blue cording trim-the chair is just the reverse. My other chair is a color I love w/the blue & yellow-a dusty salmon, which has seen its better days. I'm stressing as to a complimentary color to go w/the furniture. My walls are currently a soft gold with a butter yellow sponged on top-very subdued-not your typical 'sponged effect'. I have enjoyed the walls but I'm tired if it. I'd like to get pretty bold for color on the sofa wall since the 6 windows make the room very well lit. BUT..I'm also thinking I should keep the same density of color as the furniture since I'm not sure how a bold color wall will read w/the butter sofa.. The sage peaks my interest. Thanks, will go to RH & get a small bottle. I'd take pics but 1.camera is on the blink & 2. I have to have someone post them for me anyway-my msn unit doesn't have that capability....See Morepositano
