riOt, I am sorry that the Viking works. It would be nice to replace it without guilt. I really use our Viking alot! We use it to bake home made pizza almost every weekend, bake bread etc. We baked bread and pizza last night and they were both yum.. The crust was fab! What I hate is the Viking range hood that I bought with the Viking range. The stupid thing is completely underpowered for the kind of cooking we do. I tried to replace the blower with the externally mounted one from another company and we flunked the noise ordinance. Alas, I can't swap out the hood without getting a new range due to matching color issues. We all make "appliance mistakes" in life. The replacement would cost me about $8000 to $10,000 after all is said and done with the custom made hood etc etc. (I want a custom made hood that really works!) That is a pretty large ticket item for me at this point. Try to enjoy the range while you have a holiday from the unreliability with the latest patch job.

Mystery! is my favorite, but isn't on as regularly as it used to be-alas. I also like NCIS, the original Law and Order (even with all the cast changes-really like the new Prosecutor), and Law and Order Criminal Intent. I like The Closer, but can never remember when it's on and there are a lot of 10 pm shows I would probably like, but I go to bed early (school starts early, don'tchaknow). House Hunters and HH International are fun, too. We actually know some people who were on House Hunters. Such a disappointment-they had already bought their house and the other two houses were just filmed for the show. Not sure if they are all like that, but this one was not entirely honest. Too bad.

Speaking of which, and is totally OT - have you seen the Adam Carolla project on TV? I just saw for the first time this week and thought it was a riot. Those guys haven't made it past junior high for sure. The good news is they are generrally harmless and fun junior high, not petty and pretenious junior high. They remind me of several people I know and love. Now, back on topic, when they dump stuff in your yard, have you considered calling and offering, very kindly and wide eyed, ''Oh, did you need the name of a junk or brush removal company to take away your xzy? I'm afraid our lot isn't zoned for dumping. So sorry.'' Maybe you or your dh would have to call her dh at his work. And leave a message with the receptionist. Might be the only way to keep a straight face. I'm enjoying this way too much. Hope it isn't adding to your misery. Hmmm...did Stephen King write any books about neighbors?

I wasn't surprised that they aired a repeat -- I was surprised that the repeat had just been shown the week before... Mary Alice Young (portrayed by Brenda Strong, who continues with Mary Alice's narration), and her husband Paul had "adopted" a son - Zach. Turned out the adoption wasn't quite legal, and when Zach's mother turned up to claim him, Mary Alice and Paul didn't want to give him up. Zach didn't know he was "adopted" and none of the neighbors did, either. The birth mother was a drug addict, and Mary Alice and Paul killed her, and stuffed her body into an old trunk (I think they may have dismembered her -- I don't quite recall)... They buried the trunk deep in their backyard -- under a swimming pool, to be exact. (So, they had to be in the process of having the pool put in, in order to have done this -- they would have dug the hole for the trunk, buried it, and then the gunite would have been "shot" and the pool finished, etc. Yes, Mike Delfino (the plumber) was Zach's biological father. Zach's maternal grandfather was very wealthy, and had been searching for his daughter for years.... he'd hired a private detective. Somehow (again, I don't quite recall the details), Mrs. McCluskey figured out what Mary Alice had done, and she left the note in her mailbox. It was finding and reading the note that sent Mary Alice over the edge to commit suicide.
