I have Viatera Sapporo and love it - it is really quiet and pretty.

When we were shopping for quartz about 18 months ago we looked at all the brands. I felt the Viatera specialized in the larger-aggregate look. We were looking for a plain top, so it didn't get our vote. But it seemed like a good product.

jakabedy, that's why I like it, it looks more stone-like than Zodiaq. So many countertop choices, so hard to make a decision.

petra - it is as easy as anything I have ever had - no sealing, no staining, no scratching, and I am not careful.

Thanks Sally, that's good to know. I think we are going to go with Palermo, have to make a decision next week. I wish someone on the forum had it so I could see a real-life kitchen pic. Thanks again for posting your Sapporo. :o)

petra - I think the Palermo is very pretty - it reminds me of someone else's Cambria I saw posted recently - gorgeous installed!

More info on Viatera - we did have a scratch on our surface. Our GC noticed it right after the install, called the fabricator and he was out the next day to fix it - now a month later I cannot tell where it was. So apparently it fixes well -- I think the resin gives it a little "give."

The only 2 warnings we got were no hot pots directly on it (I would not do that anyway) and no standing on it. That was a bit of a bummer, I am short and used to stand on the counter to reach the high beams, but c'est la vie. Bought a little folding step ladder :)

Sally, I've seen the Cabo in person, but not the Palermo. It's so difficult to visualize a whole countertop from just a small sample. That must have been a bummer to find a scratch right after the install, I am glad for you that they fixed it so well. I also wouldn't put hot pots directly on a countertop, and I already use a step ladder to reach high places. :o) What edge did you get? I really wanted ogee until I saw the price, $2.15 per linear inch!!
