During the Second Lebanon War here - was it two years ago already? - my son was stationed at the largest base in the North, and was in the thick of it all. Before the war broke out and there was not only no time to tend gardens but most of the base was bombed, he had started a garden. He asked me to buy him starter plants of mint, lemon verbena, and a few other herbs, and "appropriated" a patch of ground in the sun. He watered and tended, and would call me from the base to ask "what is eating the mint?", etc. After two years there, the herb garden had grown lush and healthy, and most of the base helped themselves. My son was vigilant about everybody treating the plants well and the garden became a fixture of the base. He mustered out after the war, but I hope sopmeone else had carried on the care of that little section of home and hearth. When asked why he did it, he said that it remeinded him of me, and that it made him feel good that he could do something that wasn't regulated, requistioned or responsible for someone else's bad day. I've always direct sown my peas in the garden mid to late May. They grow so fast they always have enough time to produce before the heat of the summer sets in. If you choose to ws, I'd plant in individual cups that can be spaced apart. My sis-in-law planted a flat of them early indoors last year and ended up with a tangled mess by the time she could plant them out. I think they literally grow inches a day. :)

If anyone has ever had an eye exam the drops they put into your eyes contain the tropane alkaloid Scopolamine. Scopolamine is one of the alkaloids contained in many of the Solanaceous plants including Brugmansia. The dilation of the pupil is not dangerous as long as you protect your eyes from bright light until the pupil is able to constrict again. Scopolamine is also used extensivly to treat motion sickness and is often applied using a dermal patch. Brugmansias are no doubt toxic but unless you have an allergy or you ingest part of your plant you will be fine. Remember these plants have been used in a ritual atmosphere in several South American countries for hundreds of years where they ingest a concoction of the flowers or leaves accompanied with other alkaloid rich plants. Of course this is a very serious undertaking and could be life threatening but I think it is important that the general public knows that these plants are not as dangerous as everyone says they are if you treat them with respect, just don't eat them and you will be fine. Children because of their size are obviously more sensitive so it is always a good idea to keep an eye on them and teach them not to put anything in their mouth unless it came from mom or dad or the refrigerator. I record BBAD. Fast forward through a lot of boring stuff. I didn't think that about Paul getting the first temptation. He was the only person America knew at that time and he is very popular from last season. He has a lot of followers who were probably all voting. The other new people had no followers. Kevin said that on BBAD he was not surprised Paul got the first temptation because he has such a following. The one that I find suspicious is Jessica getting the last one. It put a lot of power in their hands and I think they knew that Cody was coming back in. I think Josh has totally lost his mind. I am afraid production is going to kill him and hide his body lol. He spent the whole episode of BBAD in the blue couch room talking to the cameras and crying and ranting and just going nuts. I feel sorry for the production team that has to watch that. Yes I definitely saw Alana's bare butt it was disgusting. She is always showing her boobs. She wears those cut off shirts with no bra and they hang out the bottom gross. I guess she thinks everyone wants to see that. I think it is interesting that production has these strange rules for them. Like they can't have cranberry juice after 11 o'clock, and they shout out No Napping if anyone is falling asleep. Dom stayed in bed the majority of the time. And they rarely let them go outside this season. Jessica tried to take a chair from inside to the backyard to sit and watch the pool game, they said no chairs were allowed outside. Some of the rules are just weird. Yes Cody's eyes do look weird. I wonder if he wears contacts? They look irritated.

If you go to weatherchannel.com and type in your zipcode, you can see what time Moonrise is. I looked yesterday, 8:59 I'll be outside looking, although we're expecting partly cloudy skies tonight, darn it. Super Moons are very cool!

It won't be till later though that it reaches the closest point, according to the article on weatherchannel
"At 11:34 p.m., the moon will be about 221,802 miles from Earth. That's about 15,300 miles closer than average."

My neighbors prolly think I am nuts now. LOL, just came back in from howling at the moon.

I had to walk across the street, to get a good look at it. To many trees between me and the moon in the back yard.

Sure is big, round, and bright.

Well, I know, it isn't 10:30 yet, but I am tired and turning in.

Here, in central FL it looked bigger at moonrise than at 11:34 pm when the local newses were telling us to look.

I was expecting it to be really big, like a Harvest Moon only bigger. It was awfully bright and pretty though.

It would look bigger at moonrise than higher in the sky - it appears the largest closest to the horizon.
