I have used the "ready" lasagna noodles several times. I didn't do anything to them before assembling the ingredients, & the dishes turned out fine. The noodles aren't as rippled on the ends as we are used to seeing with the ones that need to be cooked beforehand.

The only thing I know about them, is that you have to use more sauce than you usually would, to cook the noodles.
They are used in slow-cooker recipes, too.

Joann, I have used them and didn't see any difference, except a higher price. Now, I buy them from the Dollar Store.

That's all I've been using for years - why waste all that time boiling noodles? They're no more expensive than the regular ones at my grocery store.

I used them once and thought they were pretty bad compared to the regular. Same for other short cut pasta items. Having said that, I have never cooked regular lasagna noodles........put them in the pan and layer with the sauce on either the top or directly under them so they soak up more of it. I cover the pan and cook for 45-60 min. and it is wonderful!

I don't know why, but it seems to make SO MUCH difference...I love using them. Who knew that the PITA part of making lasagna was just boiling the noodles???? I do thin down the sauce a bit to be sure the noodles have some liquid to absorb.

I have used them many times and no one knew the difference but me since I did the cooking. I like them just fine and a big time saver.

She makes tortilla chicken dumplings, also, and brought me some. DELICIOUS!

I use the regular lasagne noodles and don't pre-cook them either. I make mine pretty much like jae_tn does. Also, I found that if you use very much more sauce then with cooked noodles, it make the lasagne too saucy. I've been cooking my lasagne like this for over 20 years, since I first saw the ones that are marketed as not needing to be pre-cooked.

All this talk of lasagna, is giving me a craving!

I know people who just soak the regular noodles in hot water, instead of boiling them first. That makes it easier too.

I use regular noodles, don't precook them.

I've been making my lasagna with uncooked regular noodles well before there were such things as 'oven ready' noodles. It's way less money to use the regular noodles.

Some love them, some don't. I've thought about trying them but don't see the need. I use good quality regular noodles and put them in dry. I've thought about giving them a quick rinse in hot water to soften them up to ease the assembly but I doubted it would be much, if any, easier. First time I made lasagna in the Nesco I didn't cook the noodles. Best lasagna I ever made. Haven't boiled them since.

At times I make a "one pot spaghetti" too where I don't cook the spaghetti noodles. When I took the microwave cooking class they made a hotdish where you didn't cook the noodles.

It's a myth to think you must cook pasta noodles all the time. The only trick to using dry noodles, whether "no boil" or regular is to be sure it's well-coated (covered) with sauce and not sticking out. I just press down on them to compact everything. That also helps make the cheese "glue" the layers together.

I do what kathysgrdn said. Use regular noodles, cook with a cover on the dish...sometimes throw it together over night..who ever thought you have to cook the noodles first was mistaken.

I use the oven ready ones all the time. I don't think they cost any more than maybe a quarter over the regular ones. We only have lasagne maybe twice a year anyhow.

It's all ready in the frig. I will be cooking it very soon. I'll let you know how it turns out. maybe even post if Pic if I don't forget.

It was ok, not like I expected it. I think I should have used more sauce since it was kinda dry. I'm going back to my old standby Manicotti (in Our Recipes)

I make my own noodles - they only need a couple of minutes in boiling water to cook for lasagna.

had no idea you could cook lasagna with out boiling noodles first - WOW, I will have to try it!

Co-worker makes crock pot lasagna with the oven ready noodles, first I had heard of them was 2 weeks ago.

My question is when you boil noodles the water looks nasty from all the starch, does that effect your lasagna when you don't boil 'em first?

What I do now is buy the regular noodles and soak them in hot water for about 20 minutes. Then I make up the lasagna. It comes out perfect each time and I don't have to spend the money on the no cook noodles.

I don't like the oven ready lasagna noodles. I notice a big difference in taste (they seem chewy too me). Now as far as not cooking the regular noodles. I have problems with that mainly because the noodles tend to expand and the layers get thrown off. I also can't quit get the sauce ratio down right --it's either too much or not enough.

I find the best lasagna uses the regular lasagna noodles, cooked al dente first, and then assembled the usual way. I use like 6 cheeses and put a lot of effort into the sauce and the dish (not to mention the cost) so I'm not going to try to take a short cut on the noodles.
