Moni will be here in Aug.

Leslie will be here too.

Linda in Iowa plans on coming...and I just got an email from JoAnn in KS. She would like to come too.

Looks like we're having a gathering.

Tell us the date! You might end up with a whole house full of KTers! lol

I've already got a couple booked weekends in August. Did a Mapquest map though and it's under a 6 hour drive.

Ah good ol' Oscar, always handy for a hint of scandal. I don't blame him, though - I'd thrash someone with my cane for a cutting of a rose 100 years in the future too. Maybe by then they'll actually have a winter hardy fragrant lavender AND a winter hardy russet. (Nah, too outlandish). I beg to differ on two points, however monsieur!! Well, one advantage you have, ksgreenman, is that you don't have to dig down several feet deep and wide to move the wrongly placed rose to its new spot -- which also has to be dug 1-2 feet down and across in order to transplant the first rose. So far this spring I have had to transplant 2 roses, and I've got 2 more coming up here in the next few days. All you have to do is carry the container to a new spot if you don't like the old arrangement! : ) Kate

Vaporvac-thanks!!! I do like the purple flowers in the spring, it also flowers later in the season. It has naturalized here and grows in many parks. emmarene-the vinca is the most maintenance, but as its gotten thicker it has prevented more weeds from getting in, although I still pull some out. I maintain the edge occasionally because its a fast grower. I dug a small trench around it that I filled with mulch to create a separation from the grass and the vinca and I maintain that edge. Also I have read that it needs cutting back occasionally to stay healthy, and the best time for that is early spring. I read you can run it over with a mower to trim it but I haven't tried that. The rest is low maintenance, I shape the shrubs and tree-which is actually a shrub, as they grow. Thanks for your comment!

The airport is in Omaha NE. We are about 15 from there.

Gayle...I used to live within walking distance...but now I'm about 10 mins...maybe a little more. There are two right together. Harrahs and Ameristar. Also the Dog track, which has been renamed, something like the Golden Horseshoe.

Patti, you are one brave person! Remember when Sandy thought only 8 or 10 people would come to Iowa and she had over 40? LOL

I sure wish we could come. It's been a long time since we've seen you and I would love to see your house!! It sounds like the type we would love. But not this time. Maybe some other time we will make it back in that direction.

After our two-week jaunt to Maine next month (in the pickup!), I doubt I'll be anxious to take many road trips for awhile...but it sounds like FUN!

Well, thanks to Leslie.. I know you are all planning on meeting...

I must confess, I forgot to tell Patti, that things shifted, and the route up to Missoula is now a more direct route.

When I first planned this trip, I thought I had gads of time, and could swing by Toni's, Patti's, Judy's and anyone else near my "planned route".

But, the date has been set for earlier, and I now have a passenger.

We need to be in Missoula on the 25th, to start riding bikes on the 26th.

Plan is to ride via Glacier National Park to Jasper National Park in Canada. On bicycles.

Once there, take the bus back to the US border (well, as close as possible) and ride back to Missoula before getting the car and driving back home.

We think the cycling will take us about 3 weeks. No way to pinpoint a date this early.

But, for the return we could meander... and visit. Just don't know how to set a date for that. :(

But, folks, plan anyway, a little birdie told me, Nita will be in St.Cloud in late July, which could make that a meet Nita gathering instead?

I really got to get off here, we are running late (visiting a friend in Northern Oklahoma right now, but will be home tonight).

Yes, I am tenatively planning/hoping to work out some kind of get-together in July while Nita is in MN, although her trip isn't "cut in stone" yet!

The "possible" date is during July 25 - 27. REMEMBER THIS IS NOT "CUT IN STONE" either! It sure would be fun to visit with KTers -- it always is.
