I enjoyed watching the show also. They seem like a fairly "normal" family. But how anyone gets a minutes peace with 20+ kids in one house is beyond me lol! The old house had such a good layout for them with each wife having her own apartment. Seems like Cody would waste so much time running back and forth between 4 Vegas houses now, but I guess they weren't able to find a large enough house. Not to mention the 4 mortgages or rents to pay. Not sure if the other wives collect welfare? I've never thought they seem well off. One show they said they hardly ever get delivery pizza b/c it's so expensive. Can you imagine the food bills for that many people? The meals I've seen seem fairly basic. They need one of the wives to be an extreme couponer to get their $1,000 grocery bills for $10! It's been mentioned that Cody has a job in Advertising/Marketing? I think Janelle had some kind of financial accounting job. Meri was working with at-risk kids at a job she loved before she got fired. Christine and Robin stay and home to take care of the kids. I'm not sure what running to Vegas solved? It's not like Utah would stop the investigation just because they moved. I think it was to stop the gossiping and kids worrying about police cars driving by etc. But they brought the attention to themselves by doing the show.

Thanks for the heads-up, Joann fla, I don't watch the IR Truckers. I watched a little, once and it was too nail-biting for me. Guess I'll be switching between Sister Wives and Housewives of OC. I seems that the programs I like to watch are often shown back to back, so my remote gets a work out.

Oh, I'm right with you about Meri--she went from my fav, to last on my list. I feel so bad for Robyn--I'm sure she figured by now, she'd have had a baby for Meri and would be about ready to get started on her own second with Kody. But Meri's got everyone waiting on her inability to admit she really doesn't want another, she just wants the ability to whine that she can't have any more of her own. And Robyn's got the wrong idea about that jewelry thing. There's no way that is going to be the business that supports the family. They NEED to be diversifying. It's okay one or two of them run the jewelry thing, and another one or two go into real estate. It would be nice if Kody found himself a career (does he really do anything?). And what happened to Meri's plan to work with at-risk youth?

Mattie--I have seen the same thing re the wife relationships as you have, also. And assume there's a lot of financial help coming their way for doing the show--otherwise there's no way they could be doing half they've done. Dances--I may not have totally explained my feelings. Of course, churches don't generally turn anyone away, and I myself was sent to a couple of vacation bible schools every summer at churches we didn't attend. That's no big deal. Churches don't mind that, because each extra person is a potential future member. But in this case? The parents sat down with the minister and were VERY adamant about the fact that they were ONLY looking for socialization for their kids, NOT religion (well most church youth groups I've seen DO have some religion involved--they help out with church religious activities, they generally have a bit of a prayer meeting along with their other activities, etc). But I guess the thing I neglected to mention for those who haven't seen the show--we're not talking about 1 or 2 teens. There are what? at least 5-6? that's a lot of extra bodies to dump on a youth group all of a sudden. Churches are supported by their members--by their financial donations and more importantly, by their physical help--teaching, maintaining the property, helping organize various events, etc. To expect a church to merely give (youth activities for a half dozen extra kids) without the parents' participation is a little excessive, IMO. But yes, that's just one person's opinion. And I applaud the church for offering their services to the family. Mind you--I understand the issue. My mom and aunt grew up in a family that was not religious, didn't belong to any church. A neighbor took them her church when they were little. They were members of that church for many decades. When my aunt died in January, the minister told me she was the longest member (not oldest, but the one who had gone to the church the longest). If they hadn't been welcomed, many things in their life and ours would have been different.
