If I had the room I know how I would plant some minis for effect ... I would take a corner of the yard and build tiers up into the corner. Possibly making it look like the side of a mountain, with different layers stacked up. i would probably do a stone or brick retaining wal at the base of each level to keep it from sliding down. It would look great..maybe a small waterfall built in?
