My son was offered a job today by my company...He interviewed last week for a position in reservations and they called and made him the offer today!! YEE HAAA!! I've always wanted him to be a flight attendant but since we're not hiring I referred him to reservations...He can go anywhere once he gets his foot in the door...It's a good place to start with the company...

Here he is last week headed to his interview...all he needed to wear was khaki's and a polo shirt...of course no khaki's to fit so he headed to Wally World at midnight to buy slacks...of course I had to hem them...he's a shrimp...then I ran him by Kohl's the next morning for a Polo and some shoes...and sent him on his way!

for years no family members could apply for Delta...they did away with the nepotism policy about 10 years ago and I'm sooo glad!!

Hooray. This is a great opportunity for him. When I was in my mid-20s, I worked for American in reservations. One year in SF and then I transferred to Wash DC the second year. I went to Europe 6 times, Hawaii and Mexico all in two years.

That is really good news Liz and with jobs so hard to come by and he gets to get a job where Mom works. Yeah!

You are correct about the orb orb (oil rubbed bronze) finishes. I have orb handles on my kitchen cabinets, and have been looking at orb faucets, but can't seem to find the same finish. UGH! Sorry about your photos too, and msjay makes a good point that it may be possible they are still on your memory stick especially if the error occured while downloading (that is if your camera has a memory stick).

Thanks all! I let little man read all your comments this morning. He was blushing and saying to himself, "I didn't cook this all by myself and I am not that good looking..." but I saw the sparks in his eyes and knew he secretly enjoyed the nice compliments. LOL I want to take advantage of his new found interest and run with it. We have decided that he would continue to make breakfast for his dad when he feels like it then dinner once a week, mostly Sunday. If he's up to it, maybe one easy dessert during the week. I got hubby hooked on bread making and now little man cooking, think I am ready to retire! LOL Pat, I guess the Xpress is sort of like a grill with much less capacity. We like it because it's small and very portable, just about the right size for a 7-year-old to handle. Karen, thanks for the link again. We have it bookmarked and have been checking it from time to time. We haven't tried out any of their recipes yet but I am sure we soon will. Rusty, I believe you're right about soda crackers = saltine crackers. Here in Canada (at least the part where we live) soda cracker is an ethnic food that has a different look and taste. They are bigger, fluffier and have no salt on the surface. The recipe definitely calls for saltine crackers because when little man finished crushing the crumbs, it turned out just the right amount. If we had used the "soda crackers" found in the Asian store, we would end up having way too much crumbs. Chase, I noticed the difference too! LOL Thanks again everyone. Your comments definitely reassure his positive experience at first attempt. I greatly appreciate it.

Hostagrams, I'd also love to see photos!! I've always been incredibly intrigued by grey paint for walls, but haven't been able to convince my husband that it was a good idea. He tends to think that warmer colours (specifically warm neutrals) are more cozy, and grey would be too cold. I'm also worried that it would look too stylish, but not warm and inviting. What's your take on it?? I'm sure it looked gorgeous!

sophie - unfortunately, I didn't pick the paint color and there is no name - but I do LOVE the color -Thank you to the woman who lived here before. I looked on the can and it is Coronado paint K13-2. We definitely wanted contrast with the floors, so at first it was Maple Natural, but we switched to this color and I am very happy with that decision. Wow, I can understand why you are so happy. As for the Wally World/Kohl's/last-minute shortening--been there done that with two sons. Oh well, he got the job!!!!!! Yayyyyyyy! You are a wonderful mom to help, and he's a handsome young man.

In no time he'll be winging it to the warm tropical islands. You might have to offer to hem some shorts for that.

it really seems surreal...he went and took his drug test and signed the offer...got a list of about a zillion three letter airport codes that he has to have memorized by the first day...i was quizzing him off the top of my head and he must have a photo memory cause he got them all...i mean who knows ZRH unless you been there? LOL

Liz you just reminded me of something. When American hired me I memorized all those codes before my first day of training and then they gave us blank maps of the U.S. and asked us to put the codes in the correct place. I had lived in CA all my life and I hadn't a clue where DIA was in relation to JFK or Boston. My trainer told me to start studying maps. LOL.
