I had the same thing happen to an early girl in a 5-gallon bucket. It got huge; I enjoyed tomatoes for a couple of months...and then the heat got it. It still looks ok, but now the tomatoes all have tough skin, no meat, and the sweetness has dropped. I knew this was coming, and had stacked concrete blocks around the bucket to shade it, but with air temps around 100 degrees, there is just no way to keep the roots cool. Next year, when the temp rises to 95 or so, I might literally bury the entire bucket in the ground. There is just no way to container-grow tomatoes in 100 degree heat, or at least tomatoes that live up to my expectations for flavor. If a hole in the ground is not an option and I absolutely had to make it work, I would build a 2x4 and plywood box with holes in the top for the buckets to set down into, insulate it, and then stick a window unit ac in the side of the box. It would be ugly as sin but I think it would work. Those roots have to stay cool. Shade helps, but when the air temps are over 90, your roots will not be happy. Container growing is great for when it's not too hot. I am starting to think of it as a seasonal thing. It's easy in the spring, but just too difficult in the summer heat. Congratulations on the success you did have. It sounds like you had as much fun as me :)

Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous, not a cloud in the sky. We were out on the Patio at 7:00 PM, when a strong wind came up. Pollen from the Oak Tree started showering us, and we quickly ran in. I had about 10 of those wormy green things in my hair. I had just used the Leaf Blower to clean off the Patio when the strom blew in. This is what I woke up to this morning. That yucky stuff all over the place. Today, is cloudy with 98% humidity. Pug in the Pollen. She loves the Camera. Gayle

Notify the local law enforcement ASAP, and how old is your daughter? Even if she is over 18, be very careful. You gals should not be by yourself until this is solved. Can you post your property? Give all this information to police and if you can get license plate, they can run it. He (they) may be wanted someplace else. If he comes around again, just go in pick up phone and call and tell them you do not feel safe. Yes he appears to be looking for something or someone.

Thank you! We will be very careful. We are wearing masks now if we go out. The hotel is taking precautions. We will have no maid service (unless necessary) just fresh towels outside the door. Employees are masked and guests are asked to mask up when outside their rooms. I feel like antique stores are fairly safe and we will not go in if any look to have many people inside. We'll wear masks, etc. We were at the lake resort in the spring and they were great about precautions and we can pretty much stay to ourselves there. Lots of outdoor areas and we are looking forward to just relaxing and enjoying the outdoors and each other. Colors should be changing and hopefully a pretty drive.
