My take on CL items is that they are always much grubbier and more worn than they appear in the pics. So I would be prepared for the "white" chairs to have a layer of scunge on them. If you're planning to slipcover, anyway, then you can get a very inexpensive pair of parsons chairs (one for your GR and one for your son's room) and come out ahead.

As for the look, I like it. I don't know what your GR looks like, but I like the look of a light, slipcovered parson's chair.

Hmmm, well you can always go and look at them and see what condition they are in. If you really only want one, then they may be willing to let them go to you for less if they have not had any offers. As far as what to offer, I guess that would depend on your location and of course, how much you think they are worth.

The chairs are from Ethan allen. The asking price is 150. What if I offered 100 for the 4 of them?

Looks like a nice chair for that spot, and easy to slipcover. I say worth having a look.

I like them and think they would look even better with linen slipcovers. You could use them as desk chairs and extra seating when you have company.

I think it's too much fabric in one area. I think it looks best for a bit more openness in the chair so it doesn't feel heavy.

They look like lovely cat-scratching posts to me. I suspect that jakabedy might be right. Would you still be interested in them if you knew that you needed to recover them?

i would take a look--can't tell what shape they're really in from a pic. if they're relatively clean and intact, they're nice!
$100 for all 4 is a good price...could see if they would be willing to sell you just 2 for $50??
i would pass tho if they've been shredded by cats.

The fact that they even mention there is a cat in the house is the first clue that there is damage or residue on the chairs. If none, why mention it in the listing? Go see them, but expect a problem I would think.

Love parsons chairs, would guess those chairs are very soiled. If they are, slip covers are your best bet. The nicer ones can be up to $169 each, and you have to get better quality slips with a camel back top than a straight top to make sure they fit well. IF you can get them for $25 they're a bargain, but remember the total price (you'll still have to clean and disinfect them, and I would do it commercially if there's been a cat sleeping on them) will likely be over $200 each by the time they are in service in your home.

I'm sorry but the fact that a cat was in the home would be enough for me to say no. I would keep looking!
