Gosh, I don't think it will be too girly at all. Both colors are nice. Navy would be a nice add-in color to solidify the boy look if needed. Another nice, similar green is Hearts of Palm.

I have that color in our powder room. I absolutely love it and recommend it often but yes, it's a green that is feminine and perfect with pink. If you want a good citrus green that is fabulous and more neutral in that regard try Behr Grass Cloth. It looks a bit dark but once up is fantastic. I used it in our mud room and pantry, as well as on a hallway wall and get compliments on it all the time. If it's too dark, you can always have it mixed at 50%. SW can also mix Behr colors if you prefer their paint.

I think it can be gender neutral without the pink. I used it in our basement play area. I think it works well with oranges, reds and blues as well as it does with pink. Without the pink dots, I think this side of the playroom reads neither girlish nor boyish. It photographs a bit minty but IRL it reads less pastel and a brighter celery than shown here.

Now here is the pink side of the play area and it is very girly mixed with pink but I think the other side looks more gender neutral.

Although I think celery could work, I have grass cloth in my kitchen and I love it. It is a richer deeper warmer green but it is darker and our basement need a lighter neutral to brighten the area up.

I am not sure I see that with the kelly green in the bedding.

Why not keep the walls neutral, and let the bedding, rug and accessories carry through the kelly green and orange?

Or do the wall at the head of the bed in the kelly green, and keep the rest of the walls neutral. Do it in the green chalkboard paint and you will have created a wonderful play space as well.

What is the floor covering? That makes a difference, too.

The Grass Cloth is a beautiful color! I had planned to use Celery in our guest room but thinking of it as a "children's" color gave me a little pause. I may still go with it sine our room is like rorah's in that it does not get a lot of light.

I went with primary colors for all my kids when they were little. Primary colors are truly gender neutral,FUN, and timeless for little people! In my world the green you are considering is too pastel for a boy.

These are the sheets and dust ruffle he has on his bed from Land of Nod...the quilt is different because my mom made it (it hangs on the wall) and his crib and dresser are cherry, not espresso. But this is the sort of green I was thinking of?

I know LoN has colors at Mystic paint but we don't have that brand around here and I can't figure out what color that is.

Oh yeah, and the floor will be a pretty neutral beige carpet. Nothing too exciting.

Looking at the bedding, the Celery would be too light and the Grass Cloth may be too dark. Why not do what they did in that photo and have the green in the fabric color matched at the store? It seems really nice in the photo.

The color in the background does look like celery, but I think the bedding would look nice with grass cloth, which has a bit more yellow rather than blue undertones.`

I posted at the same time as lukkiish. funny that we read the colors totally differently. monitor variations make choosing colors online and by a picture so hard. On my pc the wall color is bluer and a much paler green than the fitted sheet is and the fitted sheet looks slightly darker than behr's grass cloth.

I got a response from Land of Nod that says the paint color in that picture is Mythic Paint "Dilly Dally". Anyone know a good approximation of this (in any brand)? We don't have Mythic paint around here so I'm not sure where even to get a chip.

Your right Roarah the monitors do play havoc with color, cause the walls don't even look close to Celery on my monitor. They are a match to the green in the bedding though.

Cottonpenny, I had to match a blue in a fabric not too long ago and just took the fabric to the store with me to ensure I got it right. That's what you should also do with your bedding. If you go to SW, they have the lights available in the display for you to test the colors with and everything. I would start there. If you don't want SW paint, that's fine, most all of the stores can now mix each others colors perfectly.

Have you looked at SW 6162 Ancient Marble? I don't know if it's a great match for the current bedding, but it's a nice soothing green for any bedroom. Besides, in a dismayingly short amount of time, the crib bedding will be packed away for another day, and you'll be purchasing something new for a twin bed! Enjoy your time with your sweet baby.

Aw, patty, don't remind me! My little 9 month old has already grown up so fast!

I know crib bedding isn't forever, but my wonderful talented mother spend hours and hours on this quilt that I am using as a wall hanging, and the border is really similar to the sheet. So it stays for as long as he will tolerate it. Which better be a long time ;-)

hi - we used this color is my son's nursery with navy blue and cherry furniture (I pulled the colors from a Pottery Barn Kids quilt that had corduroy alligators on it.) - it did not seem girly to me at all - I love this type of green, it seems fresh and neutral.

Laura - do you have any pics? Would love you see your son's nursery, it sounds very cute!

I'm pretty sure SW Celery is the color my son picked out for his room. We used a lot of blue for an accent color. It was pretty intense!

That room is very sweet and you did a great job staging it but there is no way that's SW Celery. SW Celery is much lighter and more pastel in tone. It could be a color that's on the same strip though. It actually looks more similar to Behr's Grass Cloth

Ok, just for the fun of it, I did a search on the SW site and I think the color you used for your room(s) is Lime Rickey, see? I really like it. The color on the bedding is Celery, I new it was more mellow but the difference between the two is much bigger than I originally thought!

We actually used the very bright Behr Honeydew Green with aqua for our office and I love it! They aren't traditional office colors, but it's certainly a happy space.
