I'm begging for your best Chicken Fettucini Alfredo recipe!!

I am doing a luncheon for my niece and this is her choice. Since I don't prepare too many pasta dishes, I'm coming to you folks for info!

Alfredo Sauce

In a hot skillet, add 1 stick of butter, let it melt but not brown. Then sprinkle on parm cheese, no certain amount, just a nice coating on butter, stir up... then add one pint of cream. Heavy cream. stir in... let this all bubble but not over bubble so it curdles.. keep stirring. Taste. add more cheese or not... add salt or not, add pepper or not. Add sprinkle of fresh nutmeg... very good on it. While I am making this I cook the noodles, then scoop out noodles with a pasta scoop.... drain well, put in sauce, let it coat the noodles and there you have it.

I've never used nutmeg because it's not something I have on hand.

I use the Fettuccini Alfredo recipe on the pasta box. Always add a raw egg just at the end, when I'm tossing.

I don't know what the "obvious reasons" are, however fertilizer does not a lot of good for the threes if the nutrients aren't readily available to your trees... especially when container grown. Organic fertilize usually require soil microbes to digest the organic material before it can be used by plants. A North Caroline Cooperative Extension paper suggests that only half of the nitrogen in manure is available during the first year... less than that if you simply lay the manure on top. Traditional fertilizers provides more readily available nutrients as they are. Which tends to be more efficient in container culture where new growing mixes do not always contain the necessary soil microbes to break down organic matter. Regardless of the type of fertilizer you use, improper dosing is hazardous to your plants. If you use enough of the recipe above to adequately supply your trees with Nitrogen, you will end up with excess Phosphorus (by a lot) and Potassium. If you apply enough to provide the right amount of Phosphorus, you will have inadequate supply of Nitrogen and Potassium. Excess of one or more nutrients is as detrimental (perhaps more so) to plant development as under feeding. The recipe above doesn't mention secondary and minor nutrients, either. Plants in containers are more reliant on you to provide adequate moisture and nutrients than those in the ground. They are also more affected by excesses or omissions. I use liquid fertilizer at about 1/4 strength with every watering (when I am home). I never knew how long to expect the slow-release fertilizers to last given my particular situation. I Found the Garden Web when we started remodeling this house. All I can say is I have the most fabulous kitchen ever thanks to Kitchen forum. In the 2 years it took to do the kitchen I have lurked over here in cooking and not only found a great group of people but found I could be a much better cook because of all of you. In that 2 years I have replaced almost every cooking item with thing I found out about on this forum. I gave 11 boxes of kitchen stuff to my DD to give to a lady who lost everything in one of the Ca. fires near her home last year. I now order things on the internet that I would not have know about if not for this forum. KA, PenzeyÂs spices and the most recent Bennington Pottery, thank you Tricia, I love the muffin pans. I bought the book, 'Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day' but havenÂt had time to even look at it yet. Alexa ******************************************************** New England Biscuits with Cranberries and Rosemary 2 cups flour 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder 2 teaspoons sugar 1 teaspoon salt 5 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces ½ cup dried cranberries 2 tablespoons minced fresh rosemary, finely chopped 1 cup buttermilk 1 egg, lightly beaten Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray or line with parchment paper. In a food processor, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Pulse to combine. Add the butter and process until the mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. Place the mixture in a large bowl. Stir in the cranberries, rosemary and buttermilk. Mix well. The dough will be sticky. Transfer to a floured work surface. Dust your hands with flour and knead the dough 10 times or until smooth. Pat into a round about ½ inch thick. Using a 2-inch round biscuit cutter or drinking glass, cut out biscuits and place on the prepared pan. Gather the scraps and repeat until all the dough is used. Brush the biscuit tops with the beaten egg. Bake until golden brown, about 15 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack and let cool slightly.

I make Sue’s ribs often. Roadhouse Grill Baby Back Ribs Here is Sue's (Cookingrvc) famous recipe! They're really, really delicious. It's my favorite rib recipe. Don't pay attention to the "one teaspoon" amount of whiskey, just slosh it in, you need more than one teaspoon! 2 large racks pork baby back ribs salt coarse ground black pepper SAUCE: 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 1/4 cup minced fresh onion 1 1/2 cups water 1/2 cup tomato paste 1/2 cup brown sugar 2 tablespoons honey 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce 1 3/4 teaspoons salt 1 teaspoon liquid smoke flavoring 1 teaspoon Jim Beam whiskey 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper -- coarse 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder 1/8 teaspoon paprika To make the ribs, cut each large rack of ribs in half so that you have 4 half-racks. Sprinkle a light coating of salt and a more generous portion of coarse pepper over the top and bottom of each rack. Wrap the ribs in aluminum foil and bake in a preheated 300 degree oven for 2 1/2 hours. As the ribs cook, make the sauce by heating the oil in a medium saucepan over medium/high heat. Sauté the onions for 5 minutes or until they start to brown. Add the remaining ingredients and bring mixture to a boil then reduce heat and simmer for 1 1/4 hours, uncovered, or until sauce thickens. Remove from heat and set aside until the ribs are ready. Preheat your barbecue grill. When ribs are finished in the oven, the meat should have pull back about 1/2-inch from the cut-ends of the bones. Remove the ribs from the oven, let them sit for 10 minutes or so, then remove the racks from the foil and put them on the grill. Grill the ribs for 3 to 4 minutes per side. They should be slightly charred in a few spots when they're finished. Brush barbecue sauce on the ribs while they're grilling, just before you serve them. I always dice a fresh skinless boneless chicken breast and brown in a frypan. (with butter)
then start with this Olive Garden recipe. When its done I add the chicken again into the sauce.
Believe me it is fantastic! Everyone I've gave it to loves and and needs the recipe. Its the best!!

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
2 cloves garlic, minced (I always buy the little jar minced garlic in the refridgerater section and then i have it)
2 cups heavy cream
1/8 tsp pepper
pinch salt
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese ( i used shredded i am sure and probably a little more than 1/2 cup! LOL)
1-12 oz box fettuccine pasta
First I cut my chicken breasts into chunks and browned good with a little marg, not alot.
1. Melt butter in a medium pan over med/low heat.
2. Add garlic cream, pepper and salt, and bring mixture to a simmer. Turn the heat down if mixture reaches a rapid boil or it could boil over. You just want a simmer. Add the cheese, and continue to simmer sauce for 8 minutes or til thick. Then I added my cooked chicken.
3. While sauce cooks, bring water to a boil and add pasta. Cook pasta for about 12 minutes (?) or until done, then drain and spoon pasta onto serving plates with Alfeado sauce poured over the top.
2 -3 large servings

Be sure not to crank the heat up too high when simmering the sauce or it will curdle.

You can buy Alfredo Sauce in a jar at your grocery store. LOL!

my thoughts exactly Gayle!! but I did save these recipes...they sound wonnerful..(i just know that sauce is gonna curdle on me!)
