Just click at the top left corner of where you want the crop to start, and then drag your curser to the desired rectangle.

Also remember to use the "save a copy" option, if you want to keep the original picture the original size. I made that mistake more than once! alisande is correct with the directions for cropping. Hold the mouse button down, and drag your cursor to where you want to crop to.

I only had to try about a dozen times before I figured it out!
I was expecting, when I clicked on Select, that I could double click and some lines would appear that I could move around. I was making hard work of it! I should have known better.

Now I'm going to post it with a question, so I'll be looking for your advice there, too.
