Yes, I do. True crime and biographies are my favorites. Don't do as much reading as I used to with dry eyes. :(

My life without books would be a barren world.

When I'm trying to pass time, (dr. office etc.) any reading material will do. However, I do usually bring my own as I'm no longer raising children and the only reading material available is "Golf" or "Parenting magazine". However, in a pinch they would do. ;)

I read from books every single day.

I get Cosmo and Reader's Digest every month. Get People too, but I'm letting that expire because it's so expensive and I don't even recognize anyone in it anymore.

I read 3-4 books a week. I get the large print from the library, and go through them like lightning.

So many books, so little time...sigh

But, as much as I love books, I dislike magazines and only tolerate newspapers. I get all my news and other info off the internet, but I will only read novels from a real book, hardcover if possible.

Yes, I love to read. I haven't had much time to read and I fall asleep too easily to read in bed anymore. I have so many great books just waiting on me to read them. I only take two magazines, Taste of Home and Reminisce. We don't take a newspaper.

I always have a book in progress, usually a small size paperback as my hands can not usually hold hard cover or large books. And with my back pain I read laying down flat, usually a few times a day for short periods. Very few magazines interest me, and newspapers are radically changing every week...getting smaller and more local and human interest stuff which pleases me. Internet news/TV news is enough. Nanny

I love to read, whether its books, magazines or the local newspaper! I usually have a book in my purse wherever I go.

I like Body And Soul and First magazine. I love to read books, mostly spiritual. I'm just starting the Outlander series. I was told those books are really good.

I read everything but entertainment magazines. I don't buy magazines anymore so when I go to my sister Lizzie's apartment I read every decorating and cooking magazine she has. My other sister redirects her newspaper to my house when she goes away or my brother will drop his off.

I love to read cookbooks. I don't like horror type novels so I don't read those but I love to read a good mystery. I love to read adventure stories like the ones where people sail around the world alone or the ones who recreate voyages taken in the past.

not the paper so much. in fact, they don't deliver the detroit "free/p" but 2-3 days a week now...they've been hit like so many daily big city papers...

we do buy the sunday paper but mainly for the ads, coupons and business section...

we used to get usa today, but it got very expensive...

i only get 2 magazines anymore...bhg and sunset...

don't get me started on how many paperback books i buy, lol...

While I was going through chemo treatments I lost my desire to read, but it's come back with a vengeance.

Oh my, what would life be without reading? I have a couple of books going all the time....A friend of mine is worse than me, she has a different book in every room and carries 1 with her in her purse...When I visited, after Mass, we'd sit in the parking lot, reading, waiting for the other cars to leave...
I do subscribe to a couple of quilting magazines, devour the morning newspaper and DH and I are constantly at the Library....

After many years, I've recently started reading books again.

I agree very barren indeed. I finally got what I wanted a library and in my living room and a little in the computer room.

We still subscribe to the Chicago Tribune. I could do without it, but DH can't. The only magazine we subscribe to is The New Yorker -- never an issue without two or three fascinating articles. We use our library extensively -- novels and mysteries for me; more non-fiction for DH.

Heck, I'll read the back of a cereal box if there's nothing else at hand!

Some people learn best by hearing. I learn best by reading.

Books are a big part of our lives! We have way to many books but for the life of me I can't part with any of them!
Our city just built a new library and it is a pure joy to go there and look for books.
I love the internet but nothing will ever take the place of a book you can take to bed with you!

Well, Deb I wouldn't go that far. I can think of better things to go to bed with like Antonio Banderas and George Harrison.....in movies of course. LOL

All three. I love books, love my quilting magazines and I love The New York Times (although I don't get to read it everyday; Friday is my favorite day). :-)

I enjoy novels~

Mostly Christian Fiction, Thrillers, Romance, Historical Fiction.

I would rather read than absolutely anything else. When I know some random fact (it happens once in a while) my kids ask me "How do you know that?" I tell them b/c I read a lot. ;o) I read fiction, kids fiction, non-fiction, news, books, magazines, stuff online, menues, highway signs. I used to get car sick when I was a kid and people would tell me "Don't read in the car!" I did not know how to NOT read in the car. OK, I don't take reading material, but if there are words somewhere I read them. It's like asking me not to breath. I can't NOT read anywhere. I'm a word junkie, always looking for a fix, some printed material somewhere to read. My DD is the same way, but I'm trying to get her to understand she does not need to read it out loud!

This bothers my DH. He is not a reader. It bothers him that I will read when the TV is on. Something happens in the show, he comments to me, I don't answer and have no idea what he's talking. This bothers him a lot. Maybe it's like the expression "golf widow." He is a "book widower" and feels I spend too much time with the books. ;o)

Books are as necessary as food and water. I read almost anything - books, magazines, newspapers, backs of cereal boxes LOL

Like everyone else here, I like to read. In fact, I've never seen anyone answer a question like this who didn't like to read. Sort of like how everyone watches "very little television" when you ask them about their viewing habits.

I read books and some magazines, mostly shelter magazines. I don't generally read newspapers. I usually read novels, generally good literature, but also the occasional mystery or romance.

For most of my life, I filled every available surface with books and claimed they were my friends, and I guess they were. Now, though, I'm still just as interested in reading, but much less interested in owning physical books. I still appreciate a beautiful hardbound book printed on good paper, but I don't care to have stacks of paperbacks that I'll never read again. It's part of a paring down of everything that's happening as I get older.

So now I either take books out of the library or buy ebooks and read them on my cell phone/pda.

And Organic Donna, you're going to love the "Outlander" series. It's not the sort of thing I usually read, and it came up as a suggestion on my Amazon.com home page over and over before I gave it a try, but this series was the only time I've ever finished the last book and then immediately started with the first book again. They're not the most literary books, but Diana Gabaldon is a terrific storyteller. You'll have to post when you're done. I've noticed that several people here like the series.

I used to be an avid reader of novels. For the last few years I just don;t seem to have the attention span for full length books. However, I read two newspapers a day and Time magazine every week and books when I am away on vacation.

Gabaldon fans would probably enjoy "Company of Liars" by Karen Maitland. I just finished it. Gabaldon wrote in praise of it. Maitland has another book in the works -- something with "Owl" in the title.

Yes, big time reader, although during and after nursing school I got burnt out on reading anything. First time in my life. Back in school, starting in Jr. High, I'd always have a book with me to read. School was so boring and we had to have a study hall for one period. I had all my work done in class and was so shy so I'd stick my nose in a book. It wasn't too good in English high school, though, because I'd read the novels way before everyone else in class. They'd moan and groan about not having enough time to read a few pages so the teacher would push the deadline back again and again. By the time the test came around I had read so many other books I'd forgotten that novel. I never did do good on those tests.

I hardly seem to have time to read anymore, spend alot of my free time here in the computer, but am getting back into reading again. Still have a pile of books on my wall unit I need to read. Always take a book or magazine with me to doctor and dental appointments. That's the only way I seem to have time to read them anymore.

My favorite magazine is National Geographic, bought it the last time for Alex as a Christmas gift. I'm going to renew the subscription today or tomorrow. My dad has been giving me a subscription to Reader's Digest and Prevention for years, ever since I left home in my 20s. I quit buying People for the same reason someone mentioned above, don't know over half those people in the magazine anymore. The only articles I like are the ones about ordinary people now...not enough to make me want to spend that much money.

I like all types of books, except romance novels.

Love to read! I get the local paper five days a week, the state paper seven days a week and the Des Arc paper once a week. That's 13 newspapers a week and I read a bunch of each one of them! I love magazines and books, also.

If I'm hurting for something to read I can always fall back on the back of a cereal box! LOL (Don't say it'll get crushed. I already thought of that! LOL)
