Greenhouse roof choices
Comments (7)Do you have heavy thunderstorms with hail and high winds? Do your nite time temps stay above 40 F? If the answer is yes then use Lexan Corrugated on the roof. This gh covering allows more sunlight to get thru 90% and is indestructable unless a tornado sends a sharp ended branch or 2x4 at the gh. It can handle very large hail. It is easier to attach than twin wall as well, no need for pvc or aluminum connectors which can be $$$. It is stronger than twin wall and if hit by hail will not dimple. I have hit a panel as hard as I could with a large rubber mallet (like hail) and no damage was done it simply snapped back into it's original form. Twin wall can be crushed. Sharp objects will penetrate but they will penetrate a house wall as well. Google or Bing this query.... lexan corrugated polycarbonate panels technical data and installation guide for hobby greenhouse I've posted a pic of how clear the corrugated is. I have more pics of a corrugated covered greenhouse if you like but can only post one image at a time on this message Here is a link that might be useful: lexan corrugated polycarbonate panels technical data and installation guide for hobby greenhouse...See MoreAsking again with better images: roof color choice?
Comments (4)Your builder should have a photograph or color rendering of your house as it will look when finished. I would ask him for that and upload it to roofing sites that allow you to try different colors. Or post it here and hope one of the photoshopping wizards will help you out. Sorry, I thought you were also the siding color poster in another thread, edited out question about that. Comments (4)My current home has clapboard-style vinyl siding. The neighbor has the Dutch lap. Over the years I have come to prefer the Dutch lap. I almost had mine replaced, and I would have done the foam reinforced Dutch lap. Straight vinyl clapboard has a tendency to wave. Especially over long expanses. In our neighborhood almost everyone got a new roof in 2008 after a bad hail storm. Those that chose black regret it. It is too stark. These are mostly traditional homes. Go with the charcoal instead....See MoreHelp with siding color choice (vinyl cedar impressions) & roof shingle
Comments (2)Friends have the Charcoal Gray on a West facing wall. They have had to have it replaced as it faded within the first year. Has done so again, so they are painting that wall. I'd be tempted to with light on the color....See Morepowermuffin
