Need a short pulldown faucet, recommendations please

I have decided that I want to go with a pull down faucet to eliminate the clutter look. I have cabinets above my sink so I need a faucet that is short (nothing like Kohler Vinnata which is huge) I also want a faucet that will look good in an old world style kitchen. Any suggestions?? Oh and I don't want to spend a mortgage payment on my faucet!

I am also in the market for a shorter faucet. I don't have one yet, but this is one we have considered. We might decide a little higher not sure. Faucetdirect.com has the best price and is highly recommended on this forum.

Not sure if it is the right style for you or not. I am thinking it is not modern enough for what we are looking but might be great for old world style. I saw it in person and it was very pretty.

I looked around quite a bit before deciding on the Greenbrier faucet by Blanco. It is victorian style and is short. I think I bought it from Faucetdirect.com

I like the way it looks and feels but it has not been installed so I dont know how it will function.

Just finished searching for faucets for our remodel. If I didn't need a pull-down, I would look at Chicago faucets. They don't make any pull-downs and made in US. Good reviews on-line. Other options - would look at the Brizo/Delta hands free models if you don't want to touch with slimy hands. There were a couple other options that we considered. I am going with a Waterstone (also US made) but with the positive lock pulldown system. WS also makes faucets without a pull down. They are solid brass and seem to be well-made. I will be back on the forum in about 6 months after our kitchen install and how we like the faucet. (Guess we better like it - it was twice our planned budget!) Good luck!

I have the Moen Brantford and I like everything about it. The spray does lock, the toggle button is very easy to use, it re-docks itself easily every time (has a weight that pulls it back into place), and -- this is the main thing -- I never have to think about my faucet. The height is great for rinsing off tall things. The pause button is handy for filling pots next to the sink. (I never saw the point of a pause button before and it wouldn't be a deal breaker, but I find myself using it quite a lot.) I especially liked the price. If I were doing it again I would get the exact same faucet, or possibly another one in the Moen Reflex line if I wanted a different style. The Brantford's handle sticks out far enough that I can operate it with my wrist when my hands are chickeny; that's why I chose that particular one. (I definitely wanted a one-hole, one-handled faucet that pulled down, not out.) edited to add: Forgot you asked -- 2 years, no problems. We have Moen bathroom faucets that are 16 years old and work just like they did when they were installed. I am hoping the kitchen ones will be just as durable. I needed to pick a faucet that had a handle that didn't tip back too far because I was worried about it hitting the backsplash or window overhang. I have a large sink and only 24" to work with. That's why I ended up going with this model. It is the Hamat Ergo. I bought mine from faucetdirect.com. Mine is chrome, the picture from Faucetdirect is stainless I think. I bought a prep sink faucet because the height of the newer faucets is insane to me. If your sink isn't huge this may be an option for you. The faucet I liked came in two sizes (normal and prep or secondary sink).

The faucet in Cll2008's link is a pullout faucet, not a pull down. Would you be OK with a pullout? Pulldowns usually have to be taller b/c they pull down and they need to be high enough to allow room for the faucet head to be pulled down.

Pullouts, OTOH, are generally lower b/c they do not need the extra space for the faucet head's movement. Note that they will also generally have a longer reach than a pulldown when pulled out completely.

If you really want a pulldown faucet, I'm sure there are some out there shorter than the Vinnata--but I don't know how much shorter.

If you're OK with a pullout, your options will be greatly expanded.

We are putting the Kohler Vinnata on our main sink. Our prep sink, though, will have the pullout Kohler Fairfax. To me, the Fairfax has an "old world" or "traditional" feel--which is what I want.
