It wasn't just my imagination.....

I pay off my credit card bill every month. I used to get my statement about the 10th of the month, and it was due the end of the month. I had a good 2+ weeks to get it paid in time. I've thought for a long time that credit card companies were deliberately holding up their statements so that by the time a person gets them, you only have 7 or 8 days to get the payment back into them. Now the federal govt agrees with me. They're working on a bill to have changes made to credit cards. This is one of the items on it.

"The proposed new rules that would prohibit:

_Placing unfair time constraints on payments. A payment could not be deemed late unless the borrower is given a reasonable period of time, such as 21 days, to pay;"
