Thanks for the links. Since this is the premier showhouse, you really do get a gamut of design from firms from around the country. As deee implies, it is more like Fashion Week than your local Parade of Homes. I did like the larder doors in the kitchen, and that hood's mix of limestone and marble is intriguing (but for me, in another style -- and the blending of styles doesn't work for me) I like the main staircase and I can see that Peacock's dressing room would appeal to a certain clientele. However, the upper hall reminds me of a W hotel (in a bad way), and only lacks the club music pulsing in the background. And that daybed reminds me of temporarily relocating furniture from one room to another when remodeling -- like it is being stashed there just for a while. Bedsides the blues, I see a lot of glossy finishes, including that blue ceiling (FPE?). Stools seem to be very popular, and brass and gold are dominant, along with the wallpaper mentioned previously.

Thanks all ... here's another picture ... can't figure out why the album on picasa isn't showing. The hand-drawn acanthus leaf pattern is on the walls and ceiling ... our grandparents (on my Mom's side were artists) so we all have some sort of talent/appreciation for color and form. My sister has the physical drawing talent ... she actually studied under my grandfather who was a renown Buffalo artist. This room used to be a sleeping porch back in the day ... the 14,000 square foot home didn't have AC obviously, so they had a sleeping porch. The views, 3 sides of windows, are amazing ... this house is surrounded by fields/horse pastures .... I volunteered and spent the first morning that the Show House was opened, in my sisters room welcoming people in .... so many people walked in and sighed a big sigh of relief ... they appreciated the light, bright. comfy feeling of the room. It was lots of fun.

Do you sew or have a friend who does? This is my favorite pattern site. If you look in the Picture Gallery you'll see many wonderful treatments done in different fabrics, colors and styles, some on bay windows. It's a lot of pretty eye candy. Enjoy! I love many of the finds pictured here. I live in an economically depressed, rural area, and most of Craigslist is uninspiring and often unintentionally funny. Some people have big ideas about what their junk is worth! We've done well in the Farm & Garden section, however, both buying and selling. This summer I acquired a riding mower for $375 delivered. The owner is a mechanic (turned out he retired from the company my son works for), and the mower was well cared for. But mostly I came back here to thank My3dogs for starting this thread. As soon as I saw the title, I remembered that it had been awhile since I last checked Craigslist for a cedar wardrobe. My house is very old, and has almost no closets. I've been keeping my various jackets in an ancient but worthless wardrobe that is ready to fall apart, so I've been looking for a good replacement for about a year. Most of the ones listed had no bar for hanging clothes, and were overpriced anyway. So I saw your thread and went directly to Craigslist, where I found the perfect cedar wardrobe: just the right size, with a bar inside the top and a nice drawer on the bottom--for $75! The people even agreed to keep it for me until after Christmas, when my son can get it with his pickup. Thanks, and happy holidays to all!
