I have Shenandoah cabinets. Very nice, no problems, great customer service. We're very pleased with them.

We plan to order Shenandoah cabinets within the week. Which style cabinet did you get?

We think we are going to go with American Woodmark, most likely the Del Ray style (veneer flat panel) in Maple Honey. We also considered the Townsend style (solid recessed) in Maple Honey or Spice but wanted to keep the costs down and the solid door was just a bit more expensive.

We had American Woodmark at our old house for a couple years before we moved. We didn't have any problems with them. We upgraded to the full extension undermount glides, which to me was a worthwhile upgrade. I did not like some of the grain/knots in the Maple Spice wood, so they sent me new doors right away. We kept the old ones in the basement as spares...never needed them.

We briefly considered AW for our new kitchen remodel but they just didnt offer as many options and cabinet sizes as Kraftmaid. For instance in AW, our 36 inch pantry would have that "flap thingy" on the double doors so you have to close one door before you can close the other (I think it is called a mullion?). Since we know we are going to be in the house for a long time, I did not want to have to deal with that forever. However, I think as long as you stick to basic cabinet sizes, you should have no problems.

I agree that AW and Shenandoah are the same company so go with whichever store you like better. HD and Lowes will usually work with you to beat each other's prices so get a few quotes from different stores. Some people have suggested "Just Cabinets" or buycabinets.com, but I have no experience with either of them. Good luck!

It's been 3 months since our Shenandoah cabinets were installed- I really like them! I believe it's the Winchester in Mocha Spice Glaze. The cabinets were packaged very well- no damage whatsoever. I find them sturdy- I like the dovetail details and the drawers come all the way out.

The day after we placed the order, I went online to register so I can track the progress of my cabinets. I had difficulty so I called the company- they were so helpful. My cabinets came on the day they stated.

I would definitely recommend either one of these cabinets. FWIW, we did order the plywood sides (for cabinets sides that can be seen). No regrets here- esp. when a kitchen remodel was not planned so I only had 1 day to review both lines!

go with the Breckenridge maple shaker door with the mocha glaze. I'm still not sure about the counter tops. I've been looking at different things. I had planned to put a dark counter and now I'm thinking about something lighter.

When placing an order for American Woodmark make sure the cabinet is available with BUTT doors. This style of doors butt up next to each other without either a center stile or in some cases they use a batten. The batten extends the door on one side. It is somewhat of a nuisance to have to open and close the doors so that the batten is flush against the cabinet frame, but it allows you to have full access to the cabinet because the center stile has been removed.

I have AW Charlotteville in cream. They are beautiful. I had not one bit of problems from ordering to delivery to installation.

I was concerned with the quality because I had a strict budget to stick to, but my experience has been nothing but positive.
