A Blue Day - Make me Smile!

I made the mistake of watching the live stream of the Chicago Occupy protests this weekend, and it made me so sad. I don't want to get into a political discussion, just want some uplifting stuff. Make me smile! Kitteh pics and plant porn would be nice. :-:

I had some plant porn - Amoraphallus blooming a couple of weeks ago, but they are done for this season. Maybe I can get you a picture of a pair of Gheckos mating - would that help?

Thank you Buff. You are so true about the love between a grand parent and a grand child. I had not a clue until little Saige came along. My Archduke is also from Chamblee's and I think it's about 6-7 years old. I almost destroyed it once by a pruning mishap. If I remember correctly it took about 3 years before it was really pretty. Lady Hillingdon was a gift of a cutting that I rooted. I'm not sure of the original source. After I rooted it she really struggled the first couple of years and looked scrawny. This the third year she is really taking off. Lady Hillingdon is well worth the wait. One thing I've found about Chamblee's roses, especially the older ones, is that they might be a little root bound in those gallon pots. I've planted several of those root bound roses in the garden without really loosening the roots and they never really developed until I dug 'em up, loosened the roots and replanted them. The most recent was Golden Unicorn. It struggled for two years and acted just as you describe. Last fall I dug it up and there were very few roots. I loosened them and replanted it. Now this spring she's performing like a Buck should. Thanks Cass. That is one Archduke Charles. Mine never put on long canes but grew more like the other chinas I have, thick and mangled.

You and me both! (and you and me both on the wasted headroom! In this case, it's not so bad bcs it makes it possible to lift stuff up and over, at least on a couple of shelves.) And I'm feeling bad I didn't take befores. i'm going to take befores of the last shelf to tackle. Maybe even tonight.

Oh lordy, it seems each day I wake up with a new thought. Now, I'm leaning towards the Silestone leather. Thanks so much to all of you who so nicely responded to my concrete question. If I went with concrete, the KD firm I got my cabinets from have a guy who can do that. They do not have a guy who sells/does the Silestone leather finish. Weird, huh? Hubby would like us to have all one "gang" doing the work so if something goes wrong they can't point fingers as easily. The Silestone leather looks nice but kinda has a different feel to it. Momto4boys, I'm in Hot Springs. No one has even mentioned paperstone...I doubt if they've ever heard of it. To be honest, I've learned so much on this group that sometimes I feel like I'm educating everyone else. I sure hope someone can chime in about the leather finish Silestone. Who knows, I may wake up tomorrow thinking of granite again. When will this misery end?!?

Awww, Steppy, don't feel blue. There is a lot more good stuff going on in the world than bad, but the good doesn't make the news. I don't know exactly what upset you in the protests (maybe violence?), but I'm sorry it saddened you. Sometimes going for a walk or getting out to someplace you like will help.

No pics. But this just happened.

I just came into the room to find a very guilty pug with a face full of spaghetti sauce. One of the girls left their dinner plate on the couch!

He knew he shouldn't touch it, but just could not resist. So. How does a pug get sauce on his FOREHEAD?
