Is it fun or a chore? It use to be fun,now it's a chore.I can't stand for very long at a time and use my scooter in the kitchen which sometimes gets to be a pain! I hate to cook anymore and avoid it when at all possible!LOL

Well, sometimes it is 3 meals a day. Sometimes not. I like to cook and bake and when I feel well I really enjoy it. I cook for just my husband and me, but he is at work all day. I also cook or bake and give to my kids and sometimes I have church meals I cook for and take. I make things and freeze also, so when I don't feel up to it, it won't take much effort to cook or bake things. Mostly I really enjoy it. I have been cooking for 56 plus years of married life.

No. I mix my breakfast, pour milk over and eat it. DH is gone already at this point.

Lunch, mostly a sandwich, sometimes some soup (home made) or a salad.

Dinner/Supper, I cook something. Mostly for myself. DH put himself on a fat free diet a few years ago, and I just can't adjust to it. Ever once in a while I will cook something totally fat free (that even means cheese) and we will eat together.

Cook is my middle name! LOL I am the only cook in the house.
Its each man for himself at breakfast though. I rarely eat it anymore and DH is capable of making 2 slices of toast..

I like to cook and love it when the whole family is here to cook for! I *do* wish they'd make more suggestions for meals! That part is a chore, DS often stops for dinner, which DH loves cause we then eat bigger meals! LOL He's told him before that he'd like him to come for meals, cause then DH gets something "good" LOL Lately he is out in the service truck and has barely enough time to eat so he stops for lunch if he gets one.

Since I must work outside the home, I don't "cook" lunch. It's usually leftovers or a salad I've prepared at home. But I love to cook. For the first 20 or so years of my adult life, I pretty much was June Cleaver, a stay at home mom who cooked 3 meals a day. Now, DH works from home and does all the weekday cooking. Weekends are my time to cook and I love to try new things that often take more time to prepare than I would ever have time for during the week.

I used to love to cook, but I got tired of it and now only cook one or two meals when Jammer is home. So that means I cook about 2-4 meals a month, and I consider them more of a chore than fun. I do sometimes cool breakfast for myself.

I only cook breakfast on the weekends...if we don't go out. I fix lunch for the kids..usually no cooking involved there. I do cook dinner everynight...I go in spurts where I really enjoy it if i have it all planned out and start early enough. I love to cook when I'm in the mood...but lately I dread it! I get so tired after ths kids go home everyday that I just feel it's another job before the day ends. it goes in spurts....liking it and hating it! I used to cook 3 meals a day when my boys lived at home, but now that they are grown and on their own, I only cook once a day for me and DH. Often times he travels, so I generally make a big pot of soup or stew and I eat that for a few days. I don't find it fun cooking for one.

Dh and I are retired. Breakfast is cereal most days; bacon and eggs, etc. Sunday. DH makes his own lunch; me too. It's soup or leftovers or crackers, cheese, ham, etc. I 'cook' dinner: usually fish or meat or chicken (mostly broiled), a veggie, dinner roll, sometimes salad. This isn't 'cooking'; it's just hot food made fresh from good ingredients.

Cooking is my hobby (have you seen my blog) so I cook often but I also work full-time so I don't get to cook as much as I would like too. I mostly cook dinner and bake but I will make something special for breakfast or lunch every once and a while too.

Breakfast-bagel or cereal, Weekends,always cooked, the works. Anything and everything, breakfast.

Lunch-soup with sandwich. Weekends, usually are eaten out or grilled out.

My oven went out a year ago. So, I've been using a Toaster Oven and a Roaster. Honestly, I prefer it. The kitchen doesn't heat up.

No, not every day. I make big breakfasts on the weekends if we are home in the am. I may make a mini lunch on the weekends. And I make dinner almost every night except during baseball season (now). Sometimes it's feed in shifts are grab a hot dog or burger from the concession stand I run. Sometimes I bring other meat and grill it and sides for my family.
Breakfast is usually cereal for one, frozen pancakes for the to other two. I make english muffin, sausage, egg and cheese sandwiches ahead for hubbies breakfast that goes in his lunch box. (homemade english muffins too)

Tomorrow it will be baking chocolate cup cakes for his baseball team snack. Wed Night or Thursday morning I'll make the cream cheese frosting and decorate them like baseballs for his after game snack.

Most days I don't eat lunch. I will have something in the afternoon around 2 o'clock. Usually a Carnation Instant Breakfast and graham crackers.

For dinner I will have a meal that I have cooked. Last night it was baked sweet potato, ham cooked with cabbage and carrots, and cornbread.

Is it fun to cook? Not anymore. By the time I have cooked a meal, I'm in too much pain to enjoy it. I have to stop several times while I'm cooking to rest from the back, knees and shoulder pain.

Now, for holidays, birthdays, etc, my DD and DGD, and now my new DGD-in-law bring the food. Bless their hearts!

Is it fun or a chore? I love to cook but I hate the cleanup so I tend to clean up and wash dishes as I go so that is a chore but the cooking part is fun. I love to chop veggies, prepare the food and watch it cook. I was in the kitchen cooking all day Sunday from 9:30 am until we sat down and ate at 6:00 pm and the last dish was washed at 11:30 pm.

My dinner salad is a masterpiece that I prepare for myself. Cooking a meat to go on top of it, making the salad dressing, chopping the fruit and veggies that will go in it. If we eat breakfast, it's a piece of toast with cottage on top (me) or a bowl of cereal (him) - we make do at lunch with "whatever" - often we will fix ourselves a big mixed salad.

We go out to eat once a week - it used to be a lot more often but what with the economy, we have cut back on some stuff. We still make it a nicer restaurant - as far as fast food I'd rather cook myself than do fast food, we don't care for it at all. I think the only thing I've ordered in five years from a fast food was a diet coke on ice.

Except for KFC or, instead, Popeyes fried chicken if I can get to one. Once a year (or so) I have to have the deep fried extra spicy chicken and the biscuit. Just gotta, arteries be darned ;)

I do cook every night - or I will make big amounts of a specific thing (veggie soup, lasagna) and use my seal a meal thingie and put it in the deep freeze - then pull it out when I choose. But, we do have a very healthy and rounded meal every evening/night and a mixed (kinda "busy!) green salad nearly every day at lunch.

Three meals a day only on weekends. My husband leaves for work at 6 am, so no breakfast on weekdays. He can't come home for lunch, so no lunches, either.
Now we get down to cooking. I love to cook, will cook at the drop of a hat (or ladle), and do a lot of cooking for the freezer (casseroles, stocks, etc.). That way if we have unexpected company or a neighbor needs some help, I can always thaw and deliver!
My favorite recipes involve multiple steps, a prolonged period of time and a lot of pans/pots. Cassoulet comes to mind . . . .

Years ago, when my children were little, I prepared 3 meals a day, except when they bought their lunch at school. Things have changed a lot since then. My children are now 41 and 36 and I haven't prepared a meal in nine years. My husband does all the cooking--usually 3 meals a day, sometimes only 2. I don't even buy the groceries any more.

I cook every night or at least serve a full meal every night. We rarely go out for dinner and have lunch out a couple of times a month.
DH does his own breakfast, I do mine and usually I make lunch for both of us.
I really like to cook as long as DH helps with the clean up.
I try making stuff from scratch so it will be more healthy and love playing around with different recipes.
Seems like if I am not in the kitchen cooking I am in the yard tending my garden.

I cook as often as I have time. We eat breakfast and supper together, not complicated meals but nourishing and healthy. I often cook extras for the church shut-ins or people who have one problem or another. On Sundays I cook a big meal and some of the family usually comes to help eat it all :^) OR Our church family eats lunch together every week covered dish style, so I take several dishes for that. I like to cook and bake so if I am at home I usually have something brewing either in the oven or in the crock-pot. Pretty often it is both!!

Use to cook alot, loved holidays especially Thanksgiving when all the family would get together. Now DH should not eat the sweets, and pies he loves, and a cafe about 3 blocks away don't cook much, but do alot of creative cooking--that is how i use leftovers and what I mix up. Schwans now makes tiny cubes of cheese and alfredo sause. I like those to mix with a variety of noodles and veggies, because I don't have to open/make alot of sauce. We use just enough to flavor, and even then I will add to those.
Holidays, either eat out, or go to kids. All are good cooks.

Forgot, because people here don't do alot of Mexican cooking, I only cook those for DH and ME. Especially enchilada casseroles, tacos, enchiladas. People here thing catsup is the same as salsa. Guess I lived in CA too long. Miss the fresh veggies, fruit and sea food.

Weekday lunches are always hand-packed by me and include packets of fresh veggies and fruit and a ff yogurt. It is a sandwich, salad, or leftovers.

Weekday and most weekend dinners are always homecooked; unless I get home from the office later than 7pm; then we go out.

I love to cook and read cookbooks too. My DH says I read cookbooks like other people read novels.

Since I am gone in the morning for breakfast, my DH & DS eat cereal, bagels or poptarts. Sometimes on the weekends, I cook a big breakfast. I don't cook much any more with the empty nest situation. I need to discover more homemade soup recipes for a nice lunch that DH would like. He is fussy, but I want to get more vegetables into him. I prefer to make meals from scratch, so it does take time to prepare them. I cook enough when the kids are here to send them home with some nutritious left overs, and when they are not here, I cook dinner for some nice lunch left overs.

I used to love cooking, but then life got so hectic with 3 kids and two with food allergies that it was a chore for those busy child rearing years. Now I enjoy it again.

It is just me and DH, but we always make enough to feed all the single gals in the neighborhood.
They all work, and enjoy a home cooked meal in the evenings.

At this point in my life, if I cook six nights in a row I consider it a lot. I love to cook things that can be reheated for a second or third dinner and/or for lunch. Think how hard this must have been for our forebears. We have so many conveniences and cooking still takes up a lot of time.

Do you make three meals a day? Well, considering my son won't always eat what I eat, sometimes 6! lol. I like to eat mostly raw fruits and veggies - smoothies for breakfast, veggie omlets, chopped veggies in a tortilla for lunch or on a slice of good bread for an open face sandwich. Dinner is usually a combination of cooked and raw b/c my husband has to have meat. Bradley likes easy stuff for breakfast, peanut butter toast or waffle, pancake plus a pear, banana or apple. Lunch for him is usually left over rice and beans or pasta, a sandwich of some sort or mish mash of nuts, fruits and cheeses and bread. Dinner is either whatever we're having or if it's something he won't eat, an easy go to of rice and beans or pasta.

I have done that when I was ill but I enjoy spending time in my kitchen. I freeze meals and do more than one meal at a time often and always have something that I can take out of the freezer when I am tired or just don't want to cook...I always have cooked ground beef in the freezer for tacos or meat sauce or chili or any kind of casserole, and I nearly always have tamales and chili and enchiladas etc that I have made and frozen....I make most of of jelly and preserves and I make a lot of our bread and I grow my own veggies and I can and freeze enough for a whole year or more. If I can't grow it, I buy it in season and put it in the freezer or can it. I usually do about 40 pounds of asparagus every spring.. It's not a have to thing, my weekly budget is better than ever but because I love doing it. I grow enough to even share with my friends. I sometimes spend the whole day or days in the kitchen. I buy meat in bulk and cook it or prepare it for the freezer...love doing it and it saves a bunch of money.

It's like a fun game to me ..I love to try lots of ethnic recipes too...It is really a great past time for me....Love it. I make as many jars of salsa as I can grow tomatoes or buy tomatoes for every year ...I do make it and use it as a tomato sauce too and I make ketchup and spaghetti sauce too...

I should add that I have the kind of husband that makes you want to cook for him...There is almost nothing that he dislikes and no matter what I make he loves it. He has eaten in some of the finest restaurants and he still loves my cooking...We never have a meal that he doesn't thank me and tell me how much he liked or loved what I made...He makes my cooking so easy.
