need help w/ new layout of kitchen on concrete slab

Hello all. I am trying to improve the layout of my kitchen. Ours is a cape cod style home, on concrete slab. The gas, 220, water line and drain are all located inside one 10 foot long interior wall. There is no basement or crawlspace. The sink is centered on this wall, the cooktop is only 10 inches away to the left, and the dishwasher to the right. I hate having the cooktop right next to the sink. I want to move the cooktop to an island, or to another wall. This would necessitate cutting a trench thru the concrete slab to extend the gas line. Has anyone done this? How messy, costly and feasible is it to do? Is it advisable to cut the shortest distance possible, about 4' to an island, or just go for it and cut a longer trench to the most ideal placement on another wall about 9' feet away where I could access exterior venting? Thank you in advance for this help. There will likely be more ?'s to come, as there are many other structural challenges stumping me in this remodel.
