Need help with vessel sink faucet sizing
Comments (0)If I have a vessel sink that sits 3 " off the vanity top and is 16 1/4" diameter with a 4 1/4 inch depth what height faucet and what water spout reach do I need? I know the faucet can't be too short or the water will splash but how do I figure out what will work?...See MorePrep sink - faucet height and disposal?
Comments (6)I have a disposal, and if you plan to use the prep sink for most of your prep work, it makes sense to put one there -- unless you hace a compost bin fro all the trimmings, peels, etc. I would advise against a bar faucet. I found one that I loved the look of, but it's reach is not enough to hit the middle of the sink. As a result, andy rinsing of veggies, cookware or even hand washing results in splashing out the back of the sink. It's the one thing we plan to replace in our kitchen redo. Smaller size pull downs are limited in choices, but I think they will work better -- plus you have a spray for rinsing veggies, rice, beans, etc. DH is now insisting on a spray for the new faucet and I have to agree that it will be nice to have there....See Morefull size faucet on prep sink?
Comments (3)We just went through this conundrum last week when we finally started to put our island together. The faucet I had bought a year ago for our island sink turned out to be too big once we saw it in place. It wasn't the height that bothered me. Rather, it was the depth front to back from the sprayer to where the faucet pipe came up from the sink. We could tell that had we installed it, water would have gone all over our shirt fronts rather than in the sink! We needed a faucet with a much tighter arc to it. We were very thankful to find another faucet on clearance at Home Depot that has a tighter arc. It's the Avanti F-529-7ANY by Pfister. Our sink is a Franke with only 2 holes. The Avanti faucet we works with that configuration and has a pull-down sprayer, which was high on my wants list. I can't speak to the longevity of it, but it's working very well for us right now. : ) Here is a link that might be useful: Avanti Faucet at Home Depot...See MoreFaucet height when sink is under cabinets
Comments (6)Sorry, not much help at this point in time, but I am going through the exact same thing: My sink will be right under a standard cabinet (18" in between; less if taking in account the under cabinet light). My kitchen is being installed as we speak, so if you are not in extreme hurry, I could post pictures of the result in about two to three weeks. I have a D shaped sink and will install the faucet to the side. I most likely will use a grohe K4. But I am debating whether to use the standard one (13") or the prep sink version (11"). Now, I did quite a bit of research... I found out, that having a 11" high faucet would be preferable in terms of aesthetics. But this being said, a high arc faucet still looks OK. I saw this in a showroom with modern Italian cabinetry. They had 18" of distance between the cabinets and the counter space and installed a grohe faucet (even think it was a ladylux). At this point because it is more a matter of aesthetics and taste, it really is up to you. although, if you would install it in the back versus the side; I would think that if you were to reach for the top of the faucet and the light was on, there would be a chance of burning yourself if you weren't careful. Hope this helps....See MoreCircus Peanut
