Pics request: base cabinets trimmed with 'furniture look'

Greetings to all of you.

I've entered several search phrases into Google and cannot find examples yet. I want to add trim to the bottom base of my cabinets that will give a furniture look to the toekick. Total height will be 4 3/8" from the floor to the bottom of my framed cabinets. Have four sections I want to do this to. Clear as mud?

These can be screwed in from above. Want them to be simple but stylish.

Your thoughts/images will be much appreciated.

I hope my link works. I did ogee style feet on the base cabinets flanking my range and sink base cabinets. They are also on one end of my island. In my laundry room I did a bun style foot. The cabinets in my kitchen are about 70% installed or I would post another cabinet that is getting a colonila style bun foot. You may have to rummage through my pics to find them.

Thank you, everyone, for all the compliments. It's extremely rewarding to be able to participate in something which is enjoyed by more than two people. To worthy, I've treated this whole house project as a hobby, kinda. Not only did we get to try our hand at designing a truly custom small house, but I (we) also did much of the work myself, including the plumbing. I hate bad plumbing, and there was only one way of making sure I wouldn't need to revisit that department in the future. I did the entire layout of the bathrooms and the kitchen. The tub surround 'box', and the intallation of the Jacuzzi, including the tile,.... took me forever,.....but I'm sure it will be there longer than 'forever'. The code sez that the Jacuzzi pump, and related plumbing, has to be readily accessable, and that's what led me to use a couple of cabinet doors that snap in, for allowing this quick access. The reason there is no shower enclosure is that my wife insists that it be of 1/2" 'frameless' glass. Needless to say, the quotes were quite high, and I'm still waiting for money to 'come in'. Meanwhile, we use the handheld shower head, and we get by OK. My wife 'soaks' in the tub a couple of times per week (therapy for her back, of course). Speaking of DW (the interior decorator), she finally found just the right settee for our small entry/foyer:

Here's another pic of the base. It's the same as the cabinet but it's so "square". I just thought the shape was odd. I wanted to get some opinions before I call the cabinet place. These are "Mouser" cabinets. I have never used them before. They are beautiful and had a special at the time...no up charge for inset. I don't know what the original design called for, I'm embarrassed to admit. I was so covered up at the time. I looked it over really well, changed the drawers a little and the depth of the linen cabinet next to the vanity but did not pay much attention to the base. The baseboard is SW creamy. It's a little different color than the cabinet. I don't think it would have looked right wrapped around the cabinet but if it was the same color...it would have worked. I think I will call and see if a panel should be added underneath. But, lots of mixed opinions here on the base trim around the cabinet....Not sure what to do. I thought maybe this was something that was specific to a handicapped vanity, that might sustain less damage from a wheel chair?. Thank you for your help :-)

If you have a fairly clear vision of what you want and just need a sounding board, a couple of threads on here can help to jell your thinking by exposing it to comments. If you sorta know what you like, but you like some of this, and some of this, and some of that, then you need someone to hold your hand if you aren't certain enough to be able to whittle your choices down. The worst thing you can do is if you feel wishy washy about your desgin choices is to post asking for direction. You'll get direction all right, but it will be all over the map and won't do anything but confuse you with more choices. Don't be intimidated by all of the DIY talent on here. Not every one has that skill set. If you lack the skill or the confidence, get some professional help. It's cheaper than you think. There is no shame in seeking professional help. I've had clients that used me for exactly one hour and felt that it was worth their time. They already had their own storyboard and layout and just wanted clarification of their vision with maybe a tweak or two. I've had clients that wanted me to hold their hand through every selection and tell them what to buy because they didn't trust their taste at all. And there have been all of those in between. Pick and choose the amount of help you get, but don't be shy about getting that help!

I'm not sure if you mean furniture feet, cut out/arched trim or a solid piece of trim. The pictures below are from Google images.

Arched trim on the sides, furniture feet under the sink:

I think the solid style is lovely, but I'm not sure I would find it comfortable because with no room for your toes, you'd be leaning over slightly when working at the counter. Others who have it are fine with it; I think it's personal preference.

I have read advice that if you plan to do this, mock it up first by blocking off your toe kick space with lengths of 2 x 4 or sturdy cardboard and live with it for a couple of weeks to see how it feels.

This kitchen has furniture base on all the cabinets. The sink cabinets are recessed 2-3''.

Thank you, thank you. Your ideas and images are a good starting place for me. I don't want the feet, although they're a great look.

chicagoans, will do a mock up with 2x4's. My feet don't go under toe kick, but there are lots of feet, men's in particular, that need those extra inches. A variant of the arched trim is what I'm aiming for.

Michelle. your kitchen is going to be terrific. Adore your copper apron sink and the cabinetry.

Ditto wows to mdmc on your kitchen. Ohmygosh. Maybe I could do an ogee trim similar.

Any and all suggestions from others appreciated.

rosie - I thought about linking a previous thread that had a photo of the toekicks in my kitchen and in others, but I see it's listed under chicago's post.

chicago - What word did you google to get those images? My kitchen is the 2nd image.

I knew that before I saw your post, country_smile... I was about to ask to verify when I saw you had posted. Pretty startling to know you come up in a google search, although GW threads are often on page 1 of image and web searches depending on the word/phrase entered.
