Faucet height when sink is under cabinets
Comments (6)Sorry, not much help at this point in time, but I am going through the exact same thing: My sink will be right under a standard cabinet (18" in between; less if taking in account the under cabinet light). My kitchen is being installed as we speak, so if you are not in extreme hurry, I could post pictures of the result in about two to three weeks. I have a D shaped sink and will install the faucet to the side. I most likely will use a grohe K4. But I am debating whether to use the standard one (13") or the prep sink version (11"). Now, I did quite a bit of research... I found out, that having a 11" high faucet would be preferable in terms of aesthetics. But this being said, a high arc faucet still looks OK. I saw this in a showroom with modern Italian cabinetry. They had 18" of distance between the cabinets and the counter space and installed a grohe faucet (even think it was a ladylux). At this point because it is more a matter of aesthetics and taste, it really is up to you. although, if you would install it in the back versus the side; I would think that if you were to reach for the top of the faucet and the light was on, there would be a chance of burning yourself if you weren't careful. Hope this helps....See MoreHeight of Kitchen Window Above Sink
Comments (32)I would use a 60" wide x 40" high picture window with a 20" high RO operable transom above it. Then you could use the transom for ventilation and not have screens on the lower window. The wall above the transom would be about 7" tall, enough for trim and a ceiling molding. A structural header could be substituted for the second floor band joist/rim board. I've done it many times....See MoreKitchen sink under window - finding the balance!
Comments (12)Thanks @salex. I am not a huge fan of the wine fridge there either and I am contemplating removing it all together. I don't think it serves a purpose there at all. Perhaps in the island? Or actually, I want to create a wine/drinks/party supplies area underneath the stairs - see photos for inspiration (main floor photo is not to scale). Shall I just ask that they remove the wine fridge from where it is?...See MoreHeight of kitchen sink window
Comments (14)@Lucky998877 - you have a beautiful kitchen! I can’t go deeper on the sink wall, but am planning to go deeper on the adjacent wall that houses my fridge for the same reason. :). Was it difficult to coordinate the window, cabinet and counter top installation? We are acting as our own GC and I don’t know what I need to do to coordinate the windows and counter height. That’s the only reason I hadn’t planned a 60” window (fear of failure). I love the look of a window all the way to the counter. @ILoveRed - Thank you for photos. This helps....See Morejustmeinsd
