Great suggestion but I can be stubborn. I really don't want to introduce another piece of glass sooo...... 1. I think I can finish drilling through the bowl by tackling it from both the bottom and the top. 2. There is no way I'm going to be able to drill through the 3/4 inch glass on the bottom of the vase but I'm going to try drilling a hole as deep as I can. 3. Then I will find something to act as a pin or peg and put that through the the bowl and into the bottom of the vase. I will glue the peg in place and seal around the peg in the bowl portion of the bird bath so that it doesn't leak. 4. Then I'll glue the pieces together again and let the glue cure until Spring. This is a four handed job so I'll have to wait to work on this project until future hubby has time to help. The hardest part for me will be keeping my hands off the finished piece until I'm absoluting sure the glue has had enough time to cure. I'll report back in March or April. In the meantime I have lots of other projects to work on. Thanks for again from a girl named .... Max

Thanks everyone for all the compliments. My floating baskets aren't doing too good this year. Don't know if it's the weather or my koi (now that they are bigger they are able to tip the basket with their body just enough to nibble. They remind me of deer they don't eat the whole plant just enough to stress it out). I heard a rumor it could be my water is too clean. Pond is in it's third year so it may be fully cycled now. Don't know if any of you read Nosambos (Lisa's) post earler this month so I am linking it to mine. She is so creative she can turn anything that floats into a planter as you can see from her post. I just love visiting her pond because I never know what she has created that is going to surprise me. I got 4 large sheets of styrofoam pads from work. They are about 3 ft long by 1 1/2 ft wide. I am planning on connecting them together with computer cable ties. I am going to try to make a large floating impatiens, watercress island out of them by cutting holes in the pads and placing punctured styrofoam cups in the holes (hopefully this will make them koi proof), then placing impatiens and watercress bare root in the styrofoam cups. It may work unless my koi decide to tip it over. (They completely destroyed one floating basket of watercress in a day). I will post pics if it does work. I am just wondering if I should surround it by pond noodles to make it more stable. Only problem will be getting it in and out of the pond. My pond is in full sun and my fish have no shade other than the floating planters you see in the post here. As they are getting bigger their shade is getting smaller. Thanks Deb. I got the plumie last winter when my friend couldn't fit all hers in the house, lol. It was blooming but we knocked off most of the flowers moving it. We have a red one that is multi branched that we couldn't move and a large yellow one. The others are small. If you plant is has been rooted for a while there is a good chance you will get blooms next year. They like a lot of fertilizer like the brugs. I can't wait to see all those open on the older one and got a surprise flower on another one this morning. I thought it was the orange pot I was seeing through the greenery and I went Humm, whats that red thing, lol. It was a beautiful bloom hiding in there, lol. The variegated hibiscus is pretty but there are such long stems on the flowers they all hang down. You can click on the pics to enlarge them if you can't see them well.

Thank you all. :) I feel like she was sent to us for a reason and we love her so much. She hasn't snapped at me in almost a week. LOL She still doesn't care much for our pug kids but we're making tiny steps in the right direction. I took a chance on her level of trust in me and cut her hair earlier. She done very! well , much to my suprise. Healthwise, she's on a roll in the right direction. Finally putting on some weight (she was 9 whole lbs @ her vet checkup :( ) , her hair is growing back and her owies are healing. I hope on hope there's a special place in hell for the person that treated her so badly and the more I work with her and learn , the more I hope that person goes there. That isn't neccessarily the right way to think but from my experience and in working with her , I've figured out she was absolutly loved , pampered and trained by someone in her former life and then for whatever reason landed in the wrong hands. I took her to a public event and she socially gravitated toward older gentleman and not even knowing them , sat ever so gently next to them at their feet. I really think she was owned by such a gentleman and then he met an unfortunate fate of some type (i.e. nursing home, facility or worse) and whomever was supposed to care for her in a way he hoped, sure failed her miserably. She lets me work with her , love on her and care for her BUT she truly thinks the sun rises and sets on my husband so she certainly puts more trust in men than women. Lucky for her , he loves her as much as she does him or she'd be in trouble (or I would...LOL). Anyways, that's the Honey update. :) Have a safe and happy holiday weekend everyone!!
