Pretty good job Rosemarie. You can use actions in programs like Photoshop, and Photoshop Elements (very bare bones version of Photoshop) and Paint Shop Pro. My dad's Dell came with PSP and I know some computers and cameras come with Photoshop Elements bundled with it. Look around in your computer or your house and see if you ever got one of those for free. BTW you're welcome...I'm glad you were able to learn something. I can't tell you what the plants are in your pics, but maybe I can help with the pictures. ;-) jadegarden, The reason that the pics may have been blurry is because of the PB resizing. When you resize an image it loses sharpness. Which is why I recommend to sharpen your image once you resize it. If you allow for the image host to resize your pics you lose control over how clear they are. sjv78736, Check out the link below...if it isn't clear or a little complicated I will go ahead and do a shorter tutorial of it. Here's a link to a tutorial I found on the net. http://www.photo.net/learn/resize/ It seem like a lot of text (or complicated) but I think if you read it once you'll have a very good understanding of resizing and displaying your images on the web.

Hello james 001, It sounds like a Drosera adelae since it has root clones. The adult plants only live a couple of years, so if it is growing root run plantlets, it might be an adult near it's life end trying to propagate itself before dying. The young plants usually live as their roots detach from the parent after they start growing. If in doubt, you can dig the entire bunch up and check the young plants, detaching them with a length of root each and replanting them. They should survive and grow to adult size in about 3 months if they are adelae. I had one adelae 5 months ago that has started dying, however; is still propagating itself into about 28 plants... Every day I check, there are more plants growing. After I uprooted them and detached a bunch of roots, they went crazy and started cloning themselves in overdrive.

Regular Brandywine Pink did great. It had some foliar symptoms of verticillium on the lower leaves, but no wilt (only one of the Brandy Boy F11s had some wilt, but not very much). No discernable viruses. It produced fine, and even in the heat, surprisingly. It got some big fruit. I saved seeds from the largest fruit. Brandy Boy F11 had more taste, though. I'm trying Brandywine Pink from those saved seeds again; we'll see if the taste improves this year. Brandy Boy sets fruits in the heat just fine, too, by the way. (Brandywine Pink, however, doesn't exactly have a reputation for its heat-setting ability; so, that's partly why I was surprised.) Note that Brandywine Pink was closer to the house, and the plants closer to the house seemed less bothered by Verticillium for some unknown reason.

I think the term "GMO" is very misleading, since it stands for "genetically modified organism." As Momj47 points out, we've been genetically modifying our food, ourselves and whatever else we can get our hands on for eons, via selective breeding, and more recently all kinds of hybridizations and other techniques, etc. While some folks get all in a tither about "frankenfoods" they are just skimming the surface of the hype. The big issue really is not whether we should genetically modify organisms, but HOW we are doing it, the rate we are doing it at, and WHAT TYPES of genetic modifications we are doing and their implications, and the paucity of research into long term consequences and minimal oversight that goes into the process. The biggest use of "GMO" is not fruits and vegetables in general, but rather potatoes, corn and soybeans that are being bred to have pesticides (Bt) in their tissues, and to be resistant to herbicide (Roundup). Those are the main genetic manipulations that are causing all the hoopla, and you're not going to get a little code on your corn chips, tofu, products with soybean oil, corn syrup, etc. in them. In fact, there is no government regulation for labeling GMO corn and soy. They are becoming so ubiquitous that it is near impossible, so the industry mantra goes. Some companies label their foods, "non-GMO" I've seen that on corn chips and tofu in the health food stores, but you are having to rely on the word of the purveyor. The competition argues that this is meaningless since the genes of corn and soybeans with Bt and insecticide resistence are spreading throughout the fields and into ones that are supposedly GMO free. Plants are INCREDIBLY promiscuous! Here is a link that might be useful: GMO issues explained by Univ. Kentucky College of Agriculture
