But I will say, please oh please don't mate your cat with my boy's cat. Murphy is fantastic at slaying bugs, but his ability to herd crickets is astounding! He can pick them from thin air. Well, it seems like it. You'll be sitting there, when suddenly? Where did that come from?! He goes and yanks them out of crevices. I finally figured out he's getting them from under the basement door. I put a towel across it, and no more crickets! Luckily, I can say Murphy, come here. And then show him a bug and he will get it every time. I have him too trained. I have to smash spiders that look like they could harm him (can a brown recluse harm a cat? I assume so). That confuses him. What?! Am I out of a job?

They'd make one bug slaying, selective hearing kitten. So just don't.

Roxie is a great bug-hunter as well. But she'll just play with it, and then lose sight of it. Except flies, she likes eating flies.

My ten year old female cat loves to hunt spiders, she actually Eats them. That's great with me. She is not for sale.

Skywalker is the great fly catcher, and he munches them up (blech!). He will eat spiders as well, if they are small. Could care less about ants, and won't touch a centipede. Either would our other cats - wonder if they taste bad?

A cat I once had happily honoured me by dropping a big black leggy cricket in my CEREAL BOWL! I shrieked and flung my chair back, almost went down the stairs. She looked a bit hurt because I didn't seem to like her gift ROFL!

She used to bring me hornets too. Catch them in the window, hold the wings in her mouth and run to me with the body and stinger wriggling about in front of her. SHA-REEEK!

Dances, that is a high honor. Seriously. I remember when our old cat when I was growing up brought home a bird and presented to my mother. She was so mad at him but she also knew it was a gift and a real honor. She had such mixed feelings on it! A bluebird or a bluejay as I recall. Don't remember which.

No signs of other visitors today though. She's on duty! (yeah....)

We have a cat who likes to bring me birds. The last time it was stuffed in his mouth but his mouth was moving - the bird was still alive. I did manage to get it out and set it free.

Have you guys see the book "I could pee on this and other poems by cats". It is just a small book with a poem written (by) from a cat's point of view on each page and it is hilarious.

Relax Dances, just imagine life with my childhood cat, Samantha. She lived outside; we lived in the country. She would bring copperhead snakes, yes; the poisonous ones, to our kitchen door. She'd kill them and drag them up to the door. This happened several times each summer. She wouldn't tolerate copperheads on our happy acres.

She brought "normal" gifts, too - rabbits, mice, anything she'd find along the tree line, but she got extra good rewards for the snakes.

Caroline, my brother's one cat used to like to play with garter snakes. Great fun. Chase them around, flung them in the air, pick them up in his mouth and have a moving Fu Manchu mustache.

Oh...oh...oh...I'll take her! ME!

Wrap her up and send her with the bill. :-)

My dear departed Himalayan seemed to always know...from kitten to adulthood...that I'm deathly allergic to wasps, yellows jackets and the like. She never tried to kill them...thank God...but she would coral them and then sit there to make sure they didn't move. When she was sure they'd stay put...she come get me to go back and kill the beast. We made such a good team. Neither one of us ever was bitten as we managed to rid our world of these venomous invaders. During the months when they were prevalent...my furry friend always descended to the living level of our home before me in the morning to make sure we were safe. I sooo miss her.

Well, she's been kissing up so much lately she got a reprieve. Her argument is that she's part Klingon and wanted to give me the honor of the kill. Yeah, that's it, that's the ticket.

Too bad! I had my first dollar all ready to go. Sigh

I'd have given her a reprieve, too. Besides...with those paws...she could do some serious disciplining if she thinks you've stepped out of line. :-)

Plus...she's quite a creative neatnik isn't she. She's found her own method of keeping your floor clean. Wet and lap! Maybe you should consider hiring her out. She could definitely infuse the household budget with her cleaning talents. ;-)

And I had to download a tax statement for doing the income taxes because an unnamed furball decided it didn't belong on the phone stand. Guess she couldn't "stand" it any longer.
