Do You Have A Purse Hanger?

Do any of you ladies have a hanger to hang your purse on a table when you are out to eat or whatever? DD number 3 gave me one for Christmas. It has a horseshoe on it and it is silver colored. Two daughters and a granddaughter each have one and we use them. Just wondered if anyone else had them and used them.

Have you ever lost your wallet/purse and had it returned?

My lost & found experiences: Like a lot of people I often think how great it would be to find a bunch of money. But I always hope that If I do, PLEASE let there be no ID with it, because thanks to that guilt trip my Mom (very religious) laid on my when I was a kid, I'd have to do all I could to locate the rightful owner. I wouldn't ask for a reward either. I wouldn't turn it in anywhere because I believe that sadly in this day and age the average person would just pocket it. Found $65 on the floor of a nightclub in Avalon NJ, just the money, no ID. Sweet! Found $30 in Sears parking lot at Neshaminy Mall, NE Phila. - no car parked nearby. Again, cash only. Found a passport walking from the train to work. Tracked down the owner, called, said I'd bring it over. Knocked / rang the bell, no answer, car in the driveway. I think they didn't want to risk me asking for a reward (I wouldn't). I left it in the mailbox. When my 24 year old daughter was 3 she found a childs wallet in the playground with $3 and address / phone number inside. She wanted to keep it but I said we have to return it. The mother didn't eveen say thank you. I gave Kris $1 as a reward. When I delivered pizza part time I found $43 with no ID in the shop but it was where the drivers congregated and there was only one other driver working with me. I returned the money. Older peope are no more or less honest than the younger ones. Again as a pizza deliverer, I took an order to a florist shop. When they paid me I put the money in my jacket pocket, something I never did, usually. Walking back to the car I reached in to retrieve the money & felt only change. I turn back toward the door - I'm about 30 feet away - and the old lady who ran the register by the door is scuttling toward the bill, a ten, reaching for it when her eyes met mine. I quickly said 'Looks like I dropped my change.' She replied 'Yeah, I guess so.' or something like that. She got up and walked back inside.

How often do you clean out/change purses?
Q

When I graduated from high school in '65, my mother's friend gave me a clutch type wallet as a graduation gift, and somehow, very quickly, that evolved into my purse, and I have just carried a wallet like that ever since. I carry the same one for years...until it literally falls apart. Right now, the zipper on the zippered coin compartment is broken, so when I am out and I get change, I carry it in my pocket, or put it in the console of my truck. My truck is my purse. I keep receipts in my wallet and about once a month, take them out and put them away. I save a lot of my change, and keep it in a jar in one of my cupboards. Once a month, I empty the jar and put it away. I try to make sure I save a little more each month than I did the previous one. I've tried carrying a purse a couple of times since I switched to the wallet and it seems so heavy and kills my shoulders. Hairbrush and anything I think I will need....I keep in my truck.

What do you carry in your Purse? Too much?
Q

I didn't see that any of you have ever weighed your purse to see how much extra weight you might be hanging on your shoulder. I know my purse is WAY too heavy, but I can't seem to pare down the "ingredients". I just weighed it and it is a tad over 5 and a half pounds. My job is not in the same town I live in, so I feel that I need to be prepared for all contingencies, LOL. I do have a wonderful organizer (actually, my purse is so large that for a while I had TWO organizers in it) and I can always lay my hands on exactly what I am looking for. I know my Kindle adds weight, but still less than the book I previously carried around pre-Kindle. Just this weekend, I decided I would clean out anything unnecessary, and you know what? I couldn't think of a thing to remove. Very few articles of my clothing have pockets and I'm "fluffy" enough so that I don't want any extra bulk in that area anyway.

We have a a somewhat obsolete "phone desk" in our kitchen. I put my purse on the chair in front of it and push the chair in. It's not really visible but my DH and I both know where it is. Speaking of DH and purses, does anyone else's DH refuse to go in your purse? I have told him time and time again that I am hiding nothing in my purse. Still if he wants something from my purse, he will bring it to me rather than go through it himself. I've asked him why and he only says "it just feels wrong to go through your purse."

I have one. I got it on Etsy it has a dichroic glass cabachon.
I use it all the time. I won't put my bag on the floor or on the back of my chair.

I have one and use it regularly. Mine has music notes and came with a matching zipper charm! If I don't "hang" my purse by my knee, I am apt to go off and leave it :^(

I had one made out of pewter. I loved that thing. It didn't last long though before it broke. I really need another one. I never think to look for them when I'm out and about (which is not very often) though.

(embarrased to admit this) I bought a set, gave the second to my friend. Used mine once and left it on the table somewhere. OOPS! No more gadgets for me, I'll stick with the arm of the chair.

I've seen them before...but have never had one...

What I'd like is something my daughter's mother in law gave her...It's a hanger thing that goes on your key chain...and hangs over the edge of your purse....and the keys hang inside...so you can always find them. I'm always digging in pockets looking for them.

QVC had some gorgeous ones that they were selling, but they just didn't convince me that they could hold my heavy purse, which is usually filled with kid toys, kleenex, cell phone, camera, papers, etc and weighs a ton, LOL! I would leave mine too probably. "/

Pattico, the same daughter also gave me for the same birthday a key holder. The part that sticks outside of the purse is a Pomeranian. The purse holders we have will hold very heavy purses. Daughter number 2 carries her Glock in hers and her purse is very heavy. I don't like putting my purse on the floor and not on the table and not all chairs have arms you can put them on. So I really like mine. I wouldn't be forgetting mine as when I went to pay the bill, I would miss it.

I was going to get one a couple years ago until someone here at the KT said using one was like hanging a sign on your purse that says "Take Me".

Made sense because sometimes the only place to hang it would be the outside edge of a booth. You go out to dinner, hang your purse on the edge of the table, you get distracted and poof, your purse is gone.

If I am in a booth, it sits beside me in the booth. They aren't that easy to lift off the holder at least mine isn't.

My girlfriend gave me one but I've never used it. It seems very heavy, and I don't need to have anything else heavy in my purse. But since I have it, a number of times I have wished to use it. Hate putting my purse on the floor in a restaurant. Then coming home and putting the purse on the kit. counter, dining room table, etc. just doens't seem right. So maybe I'll dig the thing out and use it.

I thought it was a stupid idea when I first heard of it.
