We grilled yesterday, with plenty of leftovers for today ! Thank goodness, since it's supposed to rain all day. I think I'll have a lazy day. My sister and her husband are planning to stop by on their way back to their town, they've been up visiting their kids who live in the area.

No plans..except to eat the two things one MUST have on the first holiday of the summer: potato salad and watermelon. The salad and the watermelon are in the fridge, waiting for me to decide what goes with them.

It's been raining for two days, with more to come, so little if any yard work will get done though there is much to do.

Bought a paperback yesterday by a person who USED to be one of my favorite authors. Finished in two hours..what a waste of time. Virtually no plot line, unlikeable characters. No real ending, just a teaser for the next book, which I will not bother reading. Bleh!

Our company was here the last two days, they went home yesterday, so Im just going to putz around and get the house put back in order. My dumb knee decided to be sore this weekend, as it does occasionally, so I will try to baby it a bit. I'm wondering if I must have hogged the conversation all weekend, because, boy a is my voice hoarse this morning! LOL

We went to a bbq yesterday. Today, we're basically cleaning up, packing up, closing up to leave the country house and head back to the suburbs. We probably will stop along the way for lunch--DD said she'd meet us if she ends up having no parties to go to (unlikely). Then we'll be home, and have to get back into the swing there (wash, lawn work, cleaning, etc).

Kind of relaxing today. Going to put the AC in the window, water some plants. Got leftovers from grilling yesterday, potato salad, baked beans, weiners, turkey burgers, etc. Nice day so far, we need some rain.

DH and I are going to my mom and dad's to power wash their patio and furniture and set it up. Then we'll have hot dogs, macaroni salad, baked beans, etc. The weather here is beautiful.

Nothing big here--more rain in the forecast, of course. DH is having broth, jello and lemon Italian ice, since he's having a colonoscopy tomorrow. Great planning, huh? I'll have something dug out of the leftovers in the frig.

Hard to plan anything with this d@%# weather.

Nothing special planned. Might work in our flower beds a bit if the rain holds up. We don't want to be on the roads this weekend. Too many Drinking Drivers out there on holiday week ends. Too many tragic endings to what should be an wonderful celebratory week end.

I'm really bored, so I'm going shopping and I don't like to shop. Even braving it by going to Wally World. LOL

I'm back to work today, after being off since May 14. After work I have some things to do in St. Catharines, then I have other things to do in my greenhouse. If I have any energy left after all that, I will bake cookies to bring to work tomorrow.

I'm going to baste/pin my quilt together and then start (it should take several days to finish) quilting on the sewing machine. Then I'm starting 2 new dishes that I'm taking to a barbecue this afternoon. It should be a nice day. Not too hot, nor too cool.

Happy Memorial Day to everyone especially those who have served this country in the armed forces. Both my father, uncle and brother put on the uniform.

Since it will be another day of rain, rain, rain, I will be mixing up some batches of homemade birdfood and doing some crafting.

We have no plans for today, thank goodness....We went to a graduation party last evening and have a bunch of leftovers from that....I do have sheets on the line and DH is in the garden..We're going to finish the flowerbeds and then maybe clean the basement, yuck! I'd rather be in the sewing room working on my quilts....

Neighborhood party at our house. We do this every Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. After 25 years, I'm finally starting to plan ahead, I made the dip four hours before the party. LOL

Nothing much. I was going to work out in the garden but it rained pretty good this morning. I might go out later and scrape some weeds off. I was hoping to spend my three days off finishing the planting of my garden but it's supposed to rain all three days.

I got invited to a friend's house but don't know what night it was, message left on my answering machine?? I called back and left them a message.

Tomorrow night Lauren and I are going out to eat at Rafferty's for a friend's birthday, might see if Alex wants to come too. He hardly ever likes going out with my friends, though.

My plan today was to catch up with yard and house work but the baby started the day with a fever and he's been a bit crabby on and off. I did manage to do a little bit of yard work and a little bit of housework and I also went to Wal-Mart while he napped so not a total loss. DH was out doing yard work too.

I'm glad I chose today as our down day instead of yesterday.

We just got back from a day at Delaware Race Park. Had a leisurely lunch in the clubhouse restaurant while watching the races then made our way through the Casino floor on the way out.

Thankfully, looks like we beat the shore traffic coming up 95...smooth sailing all the way.

It was a beautiful day here.

It's nearly done now... but we planted a couple of rododendrem bushes, worked on painting the foundation and back steps on the house, and took a 3 hour 4 wheeler ride. Gary's outside cooking brats on the grill now and I've got a couple of trays of cookies in the oven. We are both pooped!
