Really nice edible bouquet from one daughter and a card plus a subscription for a gardening magazine from the other. :)

Tasted good, and will be a good read for another year.

Dinner prepared by my daughter who is a great cook. (learned from her Mom, of course) The main dish.. salmon caesar salad to die for and excellent from scratch pineapple chiffon cake for dessert. Then on Thursday this week she is taking me for a visit and lunch out with my sister who in 100 miles north. It means that she is taking a day of work to do this. The gift of spending time with me is the best thing she could give me.

My NC daughter sent me a beautiful card with a $50 debit card, my PA son -a 30 min phone call, and my WI son...nothing!
My sweetie took me out for a lovely dinner and I gifted my girlfriend with Tony Bennett's CD of duets.

Lovely brunch, an orchid, gardening book, pretty little leaf bird feeder, birdhouse made by DD#5, with money stuck in it,treasure chest of coins to use for garage sales, many cards and phone calls...having so many kids is paying off!!!

My daughter entertained the group of us at her house and served a bunch of nibbles. She and my granddaughter gave me a lovely Jones New York bag.

My son brought a gift bag filled with a bracelet, a necklace, and a creamer shaped like a cow. I'm sure his longtime girlfriend had a hand in it. She had to work that day, and we missed her.

    I loved my cards, too.

I REALLY wanted....... a weed-wacker! And I got it! Don't laugh.... I love the look of a nicely manicured edge.

DD bought me a pair of pajamas, a pink Lily to plant in the yard and a cute card.

We took Mom out to dinner Saturday night, to beat the Mother's Day madness. One daughter gave me a $30.00 gift certificate for my hair salon, and dinner at her house that night. My oldest daughter gave me a big polka dot cup/saucer with a gerber daisy in it. Really cute.

A yellow mum plant to take the place of the one that pooped out, and the nicest card ever. And DS mowed the lawn for us ;o)

I planted flowers for my mom, and gave her a tomato plant along with a hot pink tomato cage. Got her a funny card, too. Also put some opaque paper up on her window by the front door, cut a little peep hole into it so she could peek out. She's all about privacy! Both of my brothers called her for long chats, one short call from the Bahamas where it's really pricey to call from and the other one from FL talked for 2.5 hours! She had a great day. She also got cards and a tiara from her "adopted daughters", 2 of my best friends.

I fixed breakfast/brunch. Biscuits and gravy, pancakes, waffles, fresh strawberries. :-)

My two sis's and I gave mom a starter set of Bare Minerals (which she's been wanting to try), a desk lamp to keep her hand warm at the computer (thanks, KT, for educating me on that!), and a new set of microfiber dish towels.

My DS's sent me flowers and I gave my mother an outfit.

I planted Mexican heather and periwinkles on my parents grave, so I guess that's what I gave. DD#1 completely redid my bedroom from new paint to new lamps, a new love seat and 2 chairs, new ceiling fan and new light fixture over the seating area, new pillows and some new end tables, and new curtains. DD#2 sent me a card and Jackson made me a painted tile that goes on a pedestal in the kitchen, plus she bought me a surprise when she was in NYC last week. DS and DH gave me 4 hanging baskets, which was a wise choice. I took DGS#2 on Mother's Day and bought him a laptop and that was the most fun I've had in a long time! The look on his face was priceless.

My 2 stepdaughters came over to give me lovely cards, a huge flower arrangement, and a gift certificate from Home Goods. They are so special!

DH and I took his mom out to a fancy dinner. He got her a lovely coursage and I (of course!) bought and mailed the card earlier in the week.

I lost my mom when I was 11, over 50 yrs. ago. I did receive some nice things from my DH & DD & DS. I opened my gifts in the morning & then we all went to a late lunch. I got 6 assorted CD's from various artists I like, a pretty summer top, a lovely shade of lipstick, and I also include my 4 new pr. of earrings that I ordered from HSN & DH paid for. :-)

I have fussed for a long time about how hard it is to clean those hummingbird feeders with the narrow neck.

So my DD gave me this one.

McCloud cooked me all three meals Sunday. That was a very nice treat. He took me out to our favorite steak house Saturday night too. Got me two cards, one funny, one serious. I got calls from the two steps, that's always nice to hear from them.

DD#1 just started working in a new restaurant here that serves dinner by reservation only.It is in a big 2 story house at the edge of town on the road to a little lake about 3 miles from my house.Kind of like a bed and breakfast. The Chef is from Louisiana and specializes in Cajun cuisine. You can choose either a 3,5 or 7 course meal and pick from about half a dozen entrees and 4 or 5 desserts. She called Saturday and invited me and DH for dinner there, her treat for my Mother's Day gift. The 3 course meal is $35.00 per person! I've never in my life paid that much for a meal.LOL We had the 3 course one and both ordered Steak Poivriere (SP?),a Fillet Mignon with a cracked pepper and wine reduction sauce. After we ordered DD came back out and told us they only had one steak left.LOL It was late and we were the last customers of the day,so I got the prime rib instead.I have never eaten prime rib either.Anyway The prime rib was about 1/2 inch thick and covered half the plate, served with sauteed zucchini and yellow squash, twice baked potatoes, homemade yeast rolls,a salad, and the most wonderful blueberry cheesecake I have ever eaten. The steak and prime rib were cooked to perfection and so tender you could literally cut it with a fork! We thoroughly enjoyed it.Even though I am pretty frugal when it comes to eating out I would not hesitate to spend that much myself, for a special occasion.
I make a homemade BBQ sauce that was my dad's recipe and DD was telling the chef about it because she serves ribs some nights. She had me make up a batch and she is going to use it next time she has ribs so we may go eat there again that night.

I spent Saturday night out to dinner with my mom and grandma, just us three girls. I stayed the night with mom and on Sunday we took coffee and pastries to my grandma and had another nice visit. I gave my grandma some spa socks and some yummy lotion for her feet, it smelled soooo good. I also gave her a can of her favorite cookies. I gave my mom red satin pillow cases and a box of Lindt chocolates. When I got home DH and the boys had scoured the house and done all the yard work. They had a bouquet of flowers, a gift, cards, and a HUGE balloon that said "queen for a day" on it. AND as I walked through the door DH was prepping dinner, chicken enchiladas. My favorite of his dinners. The gift was a digital picture frame already loaded with pictures of our kids. So sweet.

I sent a bouquet of pink tulips and blue Dutch iris to my Mom. I received an "herb" pot (strawberry plant that I planted with herbs), a bouquet of mixed flowers,2 new oven mitts with neoprene coating, Ghirardelli chocolate squares and a funny card. Plus DH & DS made a great breakfast and cooked steaks and lobster tails on the grill for dinner.
