Baby Quilt (pic)

Latest project ~ tied. Doesn't have a home yet or an intended baby ~ I had the Pooh fabric and wanted to do something with it. Sorry colors are not as nice as in person ~ can't get a handle of photographing the quilts.

That's just lovely. Some small child will be very lucky one day. Thanks for showing it to us. The photography for this is always tricky.

You did a great job.
I did my first tied quilt last month, I really enjoyed doing that.

I saw this quilt in a Connecting Threads catalog, so I never looked up the pattern. The catalog did call it "Ribbon Quilt". It turns out they made 6 inch blocks. I made 9 inch blocks. Like I said it's just 8 half-square triangle blocks around a solid center.

Marty- I pieced the stack of blocks to the fabric that makes up the floor/carpet on the quilt. I also pieced them to the "moulding" in the center of the quilt. However, I was not able to cut the wallpaper background fabric to fit the block stack in such a way that it wouldn't pucker up in every direction. So I did applique the blocks to the wallpaper background. I just did a satin/zig zag stitch with like-colored thread around the edges of those blocks. I know it's hard to see in the pictures. -Stella

Great use of your Pooh fabric. Love baby quilts, I should make more. A great gift to have one hand. Some baby is going to very warm and happy someday. Jayne
