Sorry to post here, but my situation is slightly unique. My inground gunite pool/spa is at plaster phase (in other words, all the tee assembly installed for the spa are already under gunite). Plumber who did the work has ran away with the money (and I have no way of trcing him out because all the contact numbers/info are no longer worker/valid). I need to figure out what kind of spa jet I will be needing to complete the project. All I can see in gunite is PVC stub outs. one of them was broken by accident during tiling process (picture shown ) , Can any of you help me out what kind of spa jet I needed to buy. I called waterway (presuming that most common jets are from them) and per them spa jet depends of what kind of tee assembly is installed. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

@dapooltec: I had contemplated going that route myself and just live with the slightly brittle and browned ring of the jet body you can see in the first image. However, I am worried that once I finish the tiling I won't be able to find a fitting nozzle (?) and eyeball fitting. @cascade: I forgot to measure the old jets again but will do so this afternoon. I spent all of Saturday and Sunday dragging coping and concrete around, building a form for a wall behind the pool and pouring the concrete for it. Luckily, I had help by my best friend (whom I let do most of the hard work ;) ). @renovxpt: The only straight body assembly I found in the Waterway catalog is part number 210-3840. The specs for it say 7.5" min length. While my jacuzzi wall is 10" deep (it's part of the pool shell), the existing jets just sit very shallow and I am not sure I can fit the air line without opening up even more of the gunite. The booster pump is not a neccessity...it's just easier having one. lol The way some 1 pump spa systems are set up, the user will be switching a valve (by hand or remote), from heating spa returns over to spa jets when they want the jets on. If your spa is still heating when you want to use your jets, and that jet line is pulling in ambient cold air, you are going to significantly starve the heated water as it mixes with the air pulling in from the venturi of the spa jet line. While jets with outside air never help the heated water, that pump could still be heating normally with the jets on a seperate pump if you had 2 pumps. In my opinion, over the long haul, you save money in heating and save a little headache by not cooling your spa as much when your jets are on. Also, if you are having a valve switch from returns to jets, it can be a 10-20 second change if its a valve actuator...again, not a pain to wait, but with a booster pump waiting in the ready position, they are on the second you touch that button. Some people may chime in and say their's works fine as a one pump setup, and to each their own I guess...but in my opinion it is a legitimate luxury to have seperate pumps. Also, while talking about heating/cooling issues, PLUMB A HIGH RETURN INTO THE SPA AND A LOW RETRN INTO THE SPA. You will experience a significant gain in heat times when you inject hot water high and low, as you also eliminate stagnant cold water in the foot well. Yes you can adjust the flow of the Waterway jets. I say run a seperate line to the foot jet only because, for some strange hydraulic reason and water weight on top of the foot jet, a foot jet in the spa jet loop not get enough pressure. Running a seperate line to it may be a small expense, but the odds are eliminated that you wont have enough pressure. A blower is, again, a luxury. Ambient air being pulled in from an openline does not compare to force driven air from a blower...your call. It can be added if you're not happy with the amount of air. Have fun with it! Tyler

leep, that's awesome they're willing to do that to make you a happy customer. They'll get referrals from you for this...it's the name of the game in this economy. Make the customer happy enough to pass your name along with no reservations. A little jackhammering, concrete and plumbing will go a long way. Since they're going to do that...go for it!! You did some research and found out in time to fix it, and I'm thrilled you're gonna get better jet height... I was so afraid they'd balk...good for you both. Really great company you hired! Can't wait to see pics of the new jet placement. Thumbs all the way up!! Another 2 weeks or so will make no difference at all in the long run, AND they're getting some nice free positive advertising here on the Forum. Never hurts. ;-)
