Mike mangos do very well in containers in the GH. Make sure you get a grafted dwarf variety. They are almost as easy as papayas. Some varieties do better in pots then others. I still think the flavor of container grown fruit up north is inferior to inground and container trees grown trees from down South but it's fun to be able to pick fruit off your own tree. I got rid of most of my fruit trees a while back so that I could devote more GH space to flowering plants. Years ago there were few varieties available in the grocery store and they weren't that ripe or tasty but now I can get a wide variety of ripe mangos at the Asian markets. Have you taken a look at the Tropical Fruit Forum? You can get a lot of good info there.

My go to response to unknown calls (home or cell), texts and emails is to ignore them. If someone that knows me really needs to get a hold of me they know how to. Period. If for some reason our children or hubby didn't have their phone with them and needed me they'd text me or email me with a phone number I could verify before calling. It's not a bad idea to set up a code that only your family would know as my sister got a phone call from a young girl saying she was her granddaughter and was stuck in California, my sister lives in another state than her GD so it was possible that she wouldn't have known her GD was traveling. The young woman begged my sister to send her money via Western Union and not tell her parents because she was afraid they'd be upset with her. That there was a big tip off to my sister that it wasn't her granddaughter so she asked her a personal question. The young woman got defensive which my sister knew her granddaughter wouldn't have done so she hung up and called her parents. GD was in school, not in Cali. That evening her GD called her back and they made up a code question and answer to keep this young lady, or anyone else, from trying this again.

I switched to digital about a year ago, and have no complaints at all. Went with our local tv cable company, but just have the phone and computer on it. We are saving about $40 a month this way, and have unlimited long distance calling which we didn't have with our only choice for a phone only company in this area. I for one see a lot of disadvantages to having only a cell phone. I do not own a cell phone, but several of the people I talk to regularly have only cell phones. I am quite frankly sick to death of splotchy conversations and dropped calls or straining to hear. Maybe it is the area they are in or whatever. Until service with a cell is as reliable as a land line, I don't want one. I do have On Star in my van, and I feel safe on the road should I encounter a real emergency. That and my home land line is enough.
