I believe it was the latest issue of Elle Decor and a month old Architectural Digest over the weekend - I lost count of the Eero Saarinen pedestal tables and chairs.

Ha, I resently took down my teal drapes in the living room because I noticed they might become a trend, had a hard time finding then too. I do plan some wall paper looks on accent walls but will paint it on.

I had to check the date on the magazine I was reading in the doctors office- It was this months Martha, and it had the wall paper, wall to wall etc. It looked so like my Mothers magazine!

I was discussing color trends last week with funcolors....mentioned I was strangely specifying a lot of deep forest-y teals and steely blues. I tend to think my neighborhood is not cutting edge. Maybe I'm wrong. :-) I perused the TradHome ezine mentioned here last week and sure enough...lots of teal. At least, that's what my eye went to.

You wouldn't know about this Pal, but when a women is pregnant, suddenly there are pregnant women everywhere! I tend to think we notice the things we're already tuned up to notice. Allison, is there a Saarinen table in your future? Pal, any wild wallpaper?

lol Definitely not! Had forgotten my first issue of Interior Design had arrived, and I looked through it too - but they are everywhere. Roc included one in a coffee table post not that long ago and I know AM has several shown in kitchens also.

I have two Saarinen knock offs that are vintage, and I think they are a nice unobtrusive extra side table, but they seem just a bit too white to ever really fit in.(Maybe next house) I tend to tuck them away and get them out when needed.

I like intense wallpaper, mostly of the early 19th c. variety: Adelphi Paperhangings; Zuber, DeGournay, Montgomery Studios Scenics; and grass cloth. The Montgomery stuff is expensive but not completely out of reach, but my favorite is the DeGournay with the grisialle background and colored figures in the foreground.

LOVE aqua, teal, and turquoise!!! Always have, and actually, almost any shade of blue or green, except navy...

I look good in those colors, so I wear them a lot, and have used them throughout this house. Don't care if they're trendy, or "in" or whatever. Our dinette set is 1950's chrome and formica, with a crackled tabletop and turquoise vinyl chairs...with glitter.

As far as carpet goes, the sooner we can rid the house of the bedroom carpeting and go with all hard flooring in the whole place, the happier I'll be.

The reaction against or trend away from no wallpaper, no carpet, earthy colors, very simple window treatments, contemporary fabric patterns? Like Ellendi said, everything old is new again.

I will welcome back actual curtains and drapery. It doesn't have to be fancy --even a ripplefold is fine, but something with some body and fullness to it.

I am personally tired of skimpy limp things sagging on the sides of everyone's windows.

Dark deep strong blue walls and/or a blu & wht combo

I just did this window treatment in another room. Not trendy (or is it?) but I like it very much. I made the tie backs from scrps leftover from making table toppers on the other side of the room.

I've been LOL at the resurgence of teal/peacock/turquoise and brass. We recently moved into a house built in te mid to late 80s. I have blueish slate in my entryway and teal/seafoam/almost halcyon green carpet in DR, study (formal LR) and interior steps. It has been tough to decorate around. I asked for some advice here a while back on how to work with it. I've been trying to embrace some of the brass (I like some of it and I dislike some of it). Carpet will eventually be replaced w/ hardwood hopefully in a year or two but it is in excellent condition and I can't prioritize that right now. I am trying to look at it as on trend. I also have medium stained wood trim (nice quality) that I'm trying to embrace. Quality built cabinets in my kitchen that are oak. Sigh. Too much 80s I fear, and I think if my house "wore it the first time" perhaps it should not be attempting to wear it as the trend cycles around again LOL. On the bright side, it may be easier to work around the existing carpets if I can make the teal/seafoam/halcyon carpet seem intentional. I am definitely liking some of the brass I see popping up though. It would be nice to not have to replace switchplates, etc. in our house ;)

Wow ... so I'm suddenly trendy? And I'll not be trendy when I still have these colors as they fall out of flavor ... not that I care, obvioulsy ...

Teal family room, cobalt blue kitchen with white cabinets, turquoise bath upstairs, periwinkle bath downstairs ....

Huge lantern or sculptural chandeliers - offshoot of the Belgian over-scale craze I expect.
Wood or bamboo blinds - still.
Darker wall colors.
Blue, both wall color and accents.

I wish that every pic published showed the date it was designed as one never knows how old they are. I know many pics are recycled, probably over and over.

Almost anything that gets published is several years old. From conception to completion to submittal to publication can take that long. That's why you sometimes read in the owner bio "When they started this project" or "the house has since been sold". If I see something recycled and it still looks pretty fresh, more power to the designer and homeowner for that project.
