My Performer range has been in use daily for almost two years (plus an intermittent year prior to that). I am really happy with it and the cooking results. I have also found it light-years easier that the Wolf AG to clean. (I did not replace the Wolf, which I liked, but we moved.) It had seemed to me that the oven might be turning on and off while in use more than in the first year lately, but perhaps not--I am also the one who suddenly looks at a mole and things, "how long has it been that color?" despite seeing it every day. Murch, I read the negative reviews you linked to. One confusion is that people will report problems with the ovens, the ranges, and the company all in one thread. The ovens seem to be more problematic than the ranges. Perhaps I have been lucky, but would not change my decision. I agree totally that the company should stand behind their products, but have not had any to deal with. should add--the Burners do poof when extinguishing, at least the 25k, but not as much as the Wolf. But I had the older semi-open Wolf.

Not sure I should step back into these waters but after a lot of time, decision making, holdups with other parts of my house-my Ikea cabinets are currently being installed. They should measure for the (non Ikea) countertops later this week so we are close. The delay did allow me to take advantage of the Spring sale and save about $1000. Because I'm far from a store and had problems using the design software. I used a local service to design and deliver which has been horrible. Rude, missing pieces, wrong things ordered. But my contractor and I are slowly figuring out. We've removed EVERYTHING from the backsplash which will be slab marble-all of the lighting will be under cabinet and the outlets, plug mold. We also ended up removing the window as it was small and would have needed to be rebuilt because of leaks. The only decision I have left concerns a peninsula overhang which I'm leaning away from. Hopefully I will be able to post a picture of the completed soon.

Thanks for the advice, Jakuval. (Correct, traditional overlay in my kitchen.) However, I don't want to start messing with these adjustments and making things worse: when I call the dealer and his installation crew back in, they'll say I messed it up. Yes, 1/16" is indeed noticeable to the eye (so, you can imagine the 3/16"s!). I immediately emailed the owner and itemized all of the drawers that were off. He came the next day, took one look, and said, "Hmmm, I don't see any problems here. What's the problem?" Geez, did you not read my detailed email, or are you trying to be funny? He made me point out all the different areas where the drawers didn't align (whether due to size or installation). His comment: "Seriously?! Your eyes can actually see that?" It has been a very rocky road with our dealer. ckahmah: Despite our regional manager being called to the house for a meeting, to lend what advice he could give, at the end of the day you'll need to communicate with SP through your dealer. They/SP don't like to get between a dealer and the customer, as your/customer's business relationship is directly with the dealer. We actually did have huge issues with our appliance cabinet. Turns out either the KD mis-measured the space or she didn't review the oven specs carefully enough. KD told me the 'universal' cabinet shown in her catalog wasn't specific enough. After we rejected their/dealer's proposed remedy (their guy would basically take a saw to the entire cabinet, hack it apart, and rebuild it in our space), we said no go: we didn't pay for a hacked up cabinet to be installed. I realized this was the right call after I double, triple and quadruple checked the specs: the cabinet ordered wasn't even the right width. A new one was re-ordered to spec, on their dime.

Hi, I'm pricing painted MDF doors with plywood boxes. I'm also looking at Ikea however my kitchen is so small that their corner cabinets might not work. I need that storage space. I've never seen a reference to boxes made from MDF. For wall cabinets, wouldn't it be too heavy? And there are no exposed cabinets ends in layout. Thanks.
