Comments (13)We are in Orlando, 9 panels - pool 16 x 32 w/7 ft. spa. Currently the water is in the mid 70s. Too cold for me to swim, but I like to keep the water as warm as possible so it takes less to heat up the spa. I typically need it 85 + to swim, especially if it is not very hot outside. I have tried to find a happy medium during the summer, but it always ends up too hot, so I think this year I will just turn it off mostly. We are screened, full sun in the morning until about 2:00. Hopefully we will be swimming by the end of March . . . We were still swimming in early November....See MoreVinyl laminated florida glass for roof of screen enclosure?
Comments (1)GT see if your screen person will install/ replace the screen with vinyl. It is a 3m product and normally comes with a 10 yr warranty if used for windows. It comes in tint or clear. We have clear for our windows in the Flamingo room and we have the tint in the Dolphin Bar and Grill room. Our screen person would not guarantee the area in the Dolphin Bar and grill however he says that it is a hit and miss depends how much wind you receive. He also says that it should last about 3 years. We have had ours for 1.5 years and absolutely love and would recommend it. We do have some very minor leaks however our objective was to be able to sit in our summer kitchen while it was raining. It really keeps us fairly dry. Of course we would get wet if the rain was blowing sideways. We plan on addding 4 more feet this year. Look at our summer kitchen install. Comments (4)I saw where they made frames out of 2x4's and attached wire mesh inside the frames. They hinged the panels together,(4 panels about 3'x6'), and angled them similar to a room divider. The wire mesh was used to grow vine type plants. They anchored them down so the wind wouldn't catch them. I would use an exterior friendly wood such as redwood or cedar for the ground contact to keep rot down or mount them on stakes to keep the frames off ground if using something like fir or hem fir....See Moreany ideas for a privacy panel outside a screen pool enclosure?
Comments (6)I'm a little late to the party here, but... ATAFA sells a roll of privacy screen measuring 68" x 150' that comes in beige, blue, green, black and brown. It's $135 plus shipping. I've been thinking of getting it one of these days. Here's the description: The price is for per roll. Privacy Screen Rolls (with reinforced edge). Size: 68" for 6' fence. Construction: 85-90% Knit Raschel. Fiber Content: 100% High Density Polyethylene. Durable and light weight. Will not unravel. Tear resistant. Environmentally pleasing. Mold and mildew resistant. Quick and easy installation. Will not fade or deteriorate. UV stabilized. See link below. Did anybody ever use this type of polyethylene screen? Has anybody tried to make a privacy screen using the shade screen sold at places like Home Depot? Here is a link that might be useful: Privacy Screen 68...See Moreleepoffaith
