bar stool question
Comments (9)Our six chairs fit under the countertop. Only the tops show. Our island has a curve on one side. There are currently two cherry stools tucked under the curve. I also have two smaller black leather non-swiveling chairs flanking the bar. When needed, we put them around the island, so we can seat 10. Twelve if we use two other stools from our old bar. People definitely prefer the chairs with backs. Haven't had any trouble with the swivel back bumping into the countertop. DD tried swiveling but has stopped after being asked to refrain. :-) The chairs I have are very thickly padded. The link is to the chairs that I have. I don't think they will go with your kitchen, but there are many other styles and colors out there. I can also post pictures of my stools and the two different chairs, if you like. The non-swiveling bar stools are much less obtrusive. Here is a link that might be useful: My kitchen stools...See MoreYet another bar stool question

That's happened to me and caught me off guard, with a slap across the face more than once! What's the deal with DH's that suddenly come awake during an important decision? I really want to help you and know what you want to do to involve DH in your home projects; but do not let him influence you on an important decision that you know is WRONG! Been there, you will regret it! I have desperately wanted my husband to participate in our decisions, but he simply does not care and doesn't get involved too often. On the rare occasions when he did have an opinion, I wanted to give him his opportunity for input; but it was way too late in the process and very limited in scope, and I have regretted it. Take charge and let your DH make a decision where it doesn't compromise your long range decorating decisions unless you're both in it together. If he wants input, make sure he's in the decision process from the beginning. Good Luck Annie...See Moreisland bar stools - back? arms? swivel?
Comments (9)I was glad to see this thread because it was something that I had not considered. I never intended to have a stone top because the used kitchen I bought came with a butcher block top. Well, we don't think we are going to like the wood, even after it is re-sanded. Plus, we dropped it and it split in two. I imagine it can be repaired (it is after all, glued together wood in the first place) but we are now looking at stone or porcelain. When I read that swiveling stools have chipped the edges of islands, I was relieved that the counter stools I got on Craigslist are completely upholstered and cushioned, front and back. I think that this will solve the problem for me, and I imagine it would work for a lot of you. Those parsons chair type stools should also work....See MoreI just received my order of 4 walnut wood adjustable swivel bar stools
Comments (3)When I try to contact HOUZZ this message pops up..........Connection Failed The resource could not be loaded because the app transport security Policy requires the use of a secure connection. I don’t know how else to contact HOUZZ. Can you send phone number? Also I took this photo of the directions for assembly and that’s exactly how we followed them. There isn’t even a photo of the wrench so we did not assemble incorrectly. Can you now tell me how to disassemble so we can return the damaged order?...See Morejoyjoyjoy
