Wouldn't be socks because you wouldn't be that happy about spending $8 for socks (even if it is $8 for 4 pairs).

Wouldn't be shoes because you wouldn't take 7 pairs on a cruise (too much to pack).

Wouldn't be pajamas, because you wouldn't wear them into the dining room.

Thrift stores are the only way to shop! You see how the clothes hold up after washing & over time. If they still look good you have a deal.

I don't always find what I am looking for, but some good deals I've found, are a Fossil purse for $2, Aeropostale jeans $1, American Eagle jeans $1, Pampered Chef baking stone $1 (which looked horrible when I bought it, but cleaned up to like new shape)like new Club Aluminum kettle with lid for $3.

I'm really thinking Glenda got PJR slacks too!

As Glenda did, I was everything that I buy from thrift stores. I think/hope that takes care of any moths/etc. I hope! I've gotten some great buys.

I just donated about 4 truckloads of Decor items to my local Goodwill all seasonal

My guess is it's a combination of shorts and long pants. Need both on a cruise.

Ah haaaaa! Walking shorts! And YES he can wear them in the dining room as long as he's wearing button down shirts.

He won't wear short shorts, these are just above the knees.

I did check the dress requirements and on formal night he needs the long pants. The other nights the pants I bought are fine!

WE love to go to the thrift stores and GW and Salvation Army and all of those type stores. I am now into making the glass totems for the garden and my friend and I just hit a lot of those stores and scored some great glass items for me to make more totems. I am afraid I am addicted LOL

I would love to go on a cruise never been on one in my life but I am sure I would love it. My sister goes often with a group from her high school, wonderful how all of them have remained close friends and still take trips together.

Love thrift stores. I have gotten terrific things. Top labels and cheap. I donate almost every week. This week I took a dozen khaki pants over.

I guess the thrift stores near me are different. I would love to go and find stuff, I would buy it in a heartbeat. The few times I went, it was truly, old, ugly, faded stuff. Honestly, clothes from the 70's. And I would know, haha.

Anyhow, Glenda, I envy you, what a great relationship you have with your grandson.

Ever try garage sales?? Even more fun-you never know what you will see. LOl about short shorts-DD saw pictures of DH wearing them-they were in style once!!

I used to do a lot of garage sales, but I don't need anything in my little condo, and you have to get up early to get the deals, and I don't do early :o)

I bought a pair of cargo shorts for $3.99 last year at Goodwill because THEY FIT! I knew that Anne Taylor Loft is an expensive label, so I decided to check out the website to see if there was a similar pair for sale. Well, my "new" shorts were currently being sold for $42.99!!!!!! Gotta love Goodwill! I have bought my 1 yr. old granddaughter numerous toys there. I scored a " Disney Princess" electronic push/ride toy for $4.99. It retails for $65 @ Amazon. She LOVES it! (It doesn't have the rocker base and baby seat and parent handle that comes with the new one, but we don't need that stuff anyway!)

I was a thrift store junkie for years, and have to restrain myself now to only what I need, not what I just want. We have this AWESOME Goodwill Bargain Barn here where you dig through bins of stuff and tables of clothes. Most of the clothes are last season's stuff from the regular GW, so good clothes. I've found some wonderful bargains...clothes are $1.69 a lb., so well worth the digging. Linens are $1.29 a lb., and I got a beautiful designer bed comforter and shams for less than $10. I bought a matching bed skirt at another thrift store for $5. I looked up the name brand, and most of their stuff goes for around $100 a set, so what a buy! I haven't shopped at a "real" store for so long, I wouldn't know what to do if I had to.

The Goodwill store 45 min from us is not that good, you always have to watch because of spots & rips but there is a store in our small town that is run by the local church & opened only on Sat. You can bring in 15 items & exchange them for up to 15 items. If you don't find anything they will credit your account. The best thing is this if free. I have not purchased a new pair of jeant or shorts in 4 years.

I don't go to our Salvation Army thrift outlet. Think goods are over priced and never found anything..

One tht I really like is run by the Kings Ranch for local abused women and children.

Store is huge, but clean looking. Clothes neatly hung on hangers. They also sell new stuff as well, and cheap prices.
