High Temps & Algae?

I'm in Central NJ, and we've been having a very hot summer. I'm thrilled, but I'm noticing a persistent green algae problem that I haven't had other years.

My pool is an older gunite pool with a DE filter.

Last night, my reading was:

TH 250

TC 1.5

FC 1.5

pH 6.8

TA 100

CYA 40

I use a combination of dichlor granules & trichlor pucks in a chlorinator. Occasionally, I will shock with liquid bleach.

My FC has been between 1-2 during the entire time I've noticed the algae.

I shocked the pool a while back, more than once, yet the algae seems to return.

I realize my pH is low, too.

First question---do the elevated temps require a different approach to water balance? Should I be adjusting anything differently because of upper 90 deg temps?

Second question--will a pH of 6.8 cause the algae to keep coming back? I thought that with a constant presence of FC, I would be able to avoid the green monster.

Anyone else in the Northeast seeing unexpected changes that may be due to heat?

Any thoughts are appreciated.
