Operation Airlift Japan

Anyone from the Pacific Northwest participate?

A woman from the PNW who now lives in Japan running an orphanage sent out an SOS to the local talk radio jockeys Ron and Don saying that the orphanage exploded with new arrivals since the tragedy, and they were desperately in need of food and supplies.

So the DJs got volunteers from the military to airlift supplies that might be donated by radio listeners in the following week. They really hoped to get a semi truck load full to ship ASAP.

They got TEN semi truck loads. :) I had my kids to yard work to earn $20 each to buy things from the list of requests - I myself bought feminine supplies for the teenage girls. For some odd reason that was what stood out in my mind when this whole thing happned - what are women doing if it is that time of the month? Weird, I know.

The DJs say that the children in the orphanage are seeing all the donations online and are overwhelmed- they don't want it all and they want to donate some of it to other people who have "less than they have."

Sometimes I love people.
